P. Agros have come up with an innovative scheme of creating entrepreneur skills in Agri business in rural areas among unemployed graduates to own & run these Agri input business outlets under A.P.Agros franchise. This was launched by Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, Hon ble Chief Minister of AndhraPradesh on 17 th August 2005 by opening 55 centers in 10 districts These centres are called Agro Rythu Seva Kendra (ARSK) totally owned by unemployed graduates, where in they make available all quality inputs like fertilizers, pesticides, seeds, farm implements / machinery under one roof for sale at Government fixed rates. In this business these unemployed graduates have not only acquired entrepreneur skills in Agri business, but on average are earning monthly remuneration of about Rs.7,000-13,000. Upto last year about 200 such centers were opened & operated in 10 districts and now centers are opened at all districts. In all about 514 centers are in operation.

6 This novel Agri input market intervention is facilitating farmers to get the fertilizers & other inputs at Government fixed rate. The scope for selling of fertilizers by private traders at exorbitant prices has been greatly minimized. Thus we are able to check not only price hike, but make most of important brands of fertilizers available at remote places. During ,1Lakh MTs of fertilizers amounting to Rs 60 Crores, Pesticides amounting to Rs 9.61 Crores, Biofertilisers amounting to Rs 1.08 crores and seeds amounting to Crores, were supplied to farmers through Agro Rythu Seva Kendras. During , 67,000 MTs of fertilizers amounting to Rs 45 Crores, Pesticides amounting to Rs Crores, Biofertilisers amounting to Rs 9.45 crores and seeds worth Rs. 211 Crores, were supplied to farmers through Agro Rythu Seva Kendras. Agros initiated an action for establishment of Food Testing Laboratory at Chintal, Hyderabad, with 100% financial support from Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MFPI), Government of India. The project cost is about 2 crores, with 100% grant from MFPI. Small & medium food processing units besides enterprising farmers can get their samples tested at affordable costs without incurring huge cost on laboratory establishment. Testing facilities of international standard are provided where in parameters of various food products are being tested. Project Cost - Rs 4.80 Crores. Rs 1.80 Crores is received as grant from Ministry of Food Processing Industry, NewDelhi.

7 For Operation & Maintenance of Laboratory under Private Public Partnership, M/s Ascho Industries Ltd was identified through tender process on revenue sharing basis for an amount of Rs Lakhs in 10 years time. Provision is made for passing on 20% discount on farmers samples. AP Agros is nominated as a nodal agency for establishment of VHT plant at Tirupathi and Nuzvid. The Integrated Plant House with VHT system facility is inaugurated at Tirupathi and Nuzvid at a cost of Rs 1332 Lakhs at each place. Two packhouses are operational this Mango Season. 6. Auditing of Accounts Prior to , though the turnover of the corporation was ranging only between crores, the accounts were not audited for the previous 4 years, but during and all the pending audits have been completed including the AG Audit for the year & Audit for the year is in progress. 7. Other Initiatives of the Corporation: The Corporation is contemplating to enlarge its area of operation by establishing ARSKs in 750 viable rural mandals of the state. In the years to come the Corporation is aiming at speedy delivery of farm implements at much reduced prices. The Corporation is presently manufacturing machines like Paddy threshers, Groundnut threshers, Paddy cleaners, turmeric polishers, banana fibre extractors, soycow etc,. Based on the turn around performance, Department of Animal Husbandry had entrusted a project with Agros to modernize in setting up of Veterinary Biological Research Institute ( VBRI) at Hyderabad and Samalkota. The Government was kind enough to sanction Rs 5 Crores for redeeming 23 acres of mortgaged properties of Hyderabad Chemicals and Fertilisers Limited lying with State Bank of Hyderabad which is a very valuable property.

8 In order to bring out the transparency, an effort is made by Agro Industries by releasing a directory giving information on the beneficiaries benefited Mandal wise, was released by the Honourable Chief Minister Dr.Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, under Farm Mechanisation Scheme for the year , during the Rythu Chaitanya Yatras. New Mechanised tools, value addition equipment for agriculture/rural sector: Many new equipments were introduced not only to help the farmers but also to earn additional revenue and profits to the organization. These Include Pneumatic Tyred Bullock Cart, provide extra load carrying capacity and reduce the drudgery on the animal 4Walker Paddy threshing Machine helps for threshing crops like paddy, wheat, ragi, maize, with out loss of grains and to bag directly into gunnies. Banana Fibre Extractor is useful to extract banana fibre from the pseudo stem, peduncles and leaf stalks of Banana, which can be used for making gunny bags, doormats, carpets, yarn rope, geotextiles, travelites, luggage carrier, etc. and also in textile industries. Turmeric Polisher is used for polishing. Leaf Shredder is used to cut petioles of the oil palm leaves, into small pieces Aromatic Oil Distillation Plant is used to extract oils from Lemon grass, Citronell, palmarosa etc.
