Farmers globally- will not grow pulses unless they can make as much or more money than growing other crops Battle for Acres will keep prices volatile 3. South Asian consumers - Directly - will not buy more pulses unless they are as cheap or cheaper than other foods (or they become Fashionable /Active Ingredients in pop snacks / Desirable) 4. 31 The 5 Trillion $ opportunity World needs to produce in the next 40 years the equivalent of all of the food produced in the last 10,000 years Protein intake - 77g/person/day or 11% of daily dietary intake vegetable protein consumption up by 61% from 2010 to % of vegetable protein - Soy and Wheat ( GMO / Gluten) Pea protein is just 2% of the market for Vegetable Proteins but increased 46% in product launches in 15/16 and forecast to grow at over 14.5% CAGR up to 2024 The global ingredient protein market- $43.3 billion by 2024
