5 National Nutrition Survey (NNS) 2011: 58% household are food insecure 19.8% with moderate hunger 9.8% with severe hunger 58.2% of urban households and 60.6% of rural households are food insecure 63% children under 5 years age are anemic and 32% are under weight.

7 Policy : National Zero Hunger Programme announced by the Prime Minister (2012) Draft National Food Security Policy Policy Vision: Food Security for all through food availability, Food access, Food use and utilization and Stability Goal: Halving food insecurity and malnutrition in the country by 2030 from 2012 baseline. Achieving food security for all by 2050

14 Request provincial governments to appoint focal points for better coordination of Zero Hunger and Family Farming Programmes in the country Establish one window operation to extend support to family farmers Introduction of crop insurance scheme for family farmers Formation of clusters of family farmers to market their surplus produce.

15 School feeding programmes in rural areas for the children of family farmers. Benefit cards to meet cost of inputs Preparation of project documents (PC- II/PC-I) with work plan outlining tangible inputs and results.
