2 Welcome In 1974 on a small farm in Belize, what once was just the dream of a young Ohio boy to work in agriculture, developed into a dream to help feed the world. Miller Hybrids A family company with a heart for research Bob Miller grew up on an Ohio farm and always knew that he would pursue a career in agriculture. He was actively involved in FFA and 4-H during his youth, and enjoyed spending time looking at corn plots with his uncle who was a local seed salesman. Seeing different hybrids react to differing soil types and weather conditions on his own family farm and his neighbors sparked an interest in learning more about seed. Naturally he began his college years studying science, but like many of his classmates, wasn t entirely sure where his focus would be until fall of his sophomore year. At the beginning of his second year at Goshen College, Bob found himself in Belize on a Study Service Term. During this three-month experience, Bob got the opportunity to see agriculture abroad. He was able to see some of the challenges locals faced in farming and compared these to challenges on his farm back home. This experience, combined with a rich background in agriculture, took his dream of just working in agriculture one step further; now his dream was to help feed people by developing quality seed at an affordable cost. This dream paved the way for a career in Plant Breeding and Genetics and eventually to the establishment of Miller Hybrids. After completing a Ph.D. in Plant Breeding and Genetics at the University of Illinois, Bob went on to develop hybrids for two major seed corn companies. During this 23-year span, Bob purchased three farms so that he could experience these hybrids on his farms just like you. This desire to unite a love for farming with plant breeding on a more personal level led to the establishment of Miller Hybrids in At Miller Hybrids, we aim to work with you to bring innovative seed solutions to enhance your profitability and sustainability. Partnerships Sustainability We are honored to partner with you and are dedicated to assisting you with your seed needs. We look forward to working alongside you as you grow your operation and find success. 1 Innovation Innovation is at the core of our philosophy and you continue to strive to make your operation more efficient, you read up on new farming practices. 18 Research Over 1000 products are evaluated each year to develop consistent performing, top-yielding hybrids for 1000 your farm. Six research locations spread across Iowa and Illinois target sites with a variety of soil types and climate patterns across maturity zones. 6 3 Research efforts take place across diverse environments including corn-on-corn. We focus on three areas: plant health, ear and yield consistency and understanding hybrid placement unique hybrids containing parent lines from Miller Hybrids research. 70 acres of research plots at six unique locations gives us access to research data needed to make the best recommendations we can. 4 More accurate research is possible based on our technique of averaging the center four rows of an eight-row plot for yield data, which eliminates the risk of interplot competition. 17 By accessing an elite germplasm base and advanced biotech tools, we are able to develop certain conventional and traited hybrids that are only available through Miller Hybrids. These efforts will help provide a stream of performance hybrids into the future.

19 Stewardship NEW SEED VS BIN-RUN All soybean varieties sold by Miller Hybrids, including conventional and Glyphosate tolerant (GT) soybeans, are protected by variety patents that do not allow saving and planting beans for seed unless you are a Licensee of the patent holder for that variety. Higher seeding rates may be required for bin-run compared to new branded seed. Dealer agronomic support before and after the sale with new seed. Loss of seed or shrink occurs during seed cleaning and handling processes for bin-run seed. Income lost by not selling a bushel of soybeans that is saved for planting the next year. Newest seed technology available with new seed from your dealer. Your dealer provides replant policy support, seed delivery, seed treatment options, germination testing and properly stored and conditioned seed. LibertyLink Patent Statement Soybean seeds containing LibertyLink are protected under multiple U.S. patents and may be planted only to produce one (1) commercial crop, and only after signing a Bayer Grower Technology Agreement. It is illegal to save or catch soybean seeds containing the LibertyLink trait for use as planting seed or for transfer to others for use as planting seed. SOYBEAN PIRACY STATEMENT Seed containing a patented trait can only be used to plant a single commercial crop from which seed cannot be saved and replanted. Examples of seed containing a patented trait include but are not limited to Genuity Roundup Ready 2 Yield soybeans, and Roundup Ready 2 Xtend soybeans. Additional information and limitations on the use of these products are provided in the Monsanto Technology Stewardship Agreement, the Monsanto Technology Use Guide, and 2016 Technology Use Guide Addendum to include Roundup Ready 2 Xtend Soybean. U.S. patents for Monsanto technologies can be found at the following webpage: As of this printing no dicamba herbicide product has been approved for commercial in-crop use with Roundup Ready 2 Xtend soybeans. DO NOT APPLY DICAMBA HERBICIDE IN-CROP TO Roundup Ready 2 Xtend Soybeans in 2016 unless you use a dicamba herbicide product that is specifically labeled for that use in the location where you intend to make the application. While no in-crop use of dicamba is currently approved, some dicamba products may be labeled for weed control prior to planting a crop and subject to minimum plant back restrictions. IT IS A VIOLATION OF FEDERAL AND STATE LAW TO MAKE AN IN-CROP APPLICATION OF ANY DICAMBA HERBICIDE PRODUCT ON Roundup Ready 2 Xtend Soybeans, OR ANY OTHER PESTICIDE APPLICATION, UNLESS THE PRODUCT LABELING SPECIFICALLY AUTHORIZES THE USE. Contact the U.S. EPA and your state pesticide regulatory agency with any questions about the approval status of dicamba herbicide products for in-crop use with Roundup Ready 2 Xtend Soybeans and follow all pesticide product labeling. Monsanto Company is a member of Excellence Through Stewardship (ETS). Monsanto products are commercialized in accordance with ETS Product Launch Stewardship Guidance, and in compliance with Monsanto s Policy for Commercialization of Biotechnology-Derived Plant Products in Commodity Crops. Certain products have been approved for import into key export markets with functioning regulatory systems. Roundup Ready 2 Xtend soybeans have been approved for cultivation in the U.S. and Canada, and for import in Australia/New Zealand, Colombia, China, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Taiwan, and Vietnam. The single events in Roundup Ready 2 Xtend soybeans have been approved for import in the EU. As of February 2, 2016, E.U. stack approval for Roundup Ready 2 Xtend soybeans is in the final stage of approval and is expected but not guaranteed to be received in the near future. Any crop or material produced from this product can only be exported to, or used, processed or sold in countries where all necessary regulatory approvals have been granted. It is a violation of national and international law to move material containing biotech traits across boundaries into nations where import is not permitted. Growers should talk to their grain handler or product purchaser to confirm their buying position for this product. Growers should refer to for any updated information on import country approvals. Excellence Through Stewardship is a registered trademark of Biotechnology Industry Organization. B.t. products may not yet be registered in all states. Check with your Monsanto representative for the registration status in your state. IMPORTANT IRM INFORMATION: Genuity RIB Complete corn blend products do not require the planting of a structured refuge except in the Cotton-Growing Area where corn earworm is a significant pest. Always read and follow IRM requirements. ALWAYS READ AND FOLLOW PESTICIDE LABEL DIRECTIONS. Roundup Ready 2 Xtend Soybeans contains genes that confer tolerance to glyphosate and dicamba. Glyphosate herbicides will kill crops that are not tolerant to glyphosate. Dicamba will kill crops that are not tolerant to dicamba. Contact your Monsanto dealer or refer to Monsanto s Technology Use Guide for recommended Roundup Ready Xtend Crop System weed control programs. By opening and using a bag of seed, you are reaffirming your obligation to comply with those stewardship requirements. Respect the Rotation is an initiative to elevate the importance and grower adoptions of herbicide diversity to prevent or manage weed resistance. Glyphosate weed resistance is a dominating threat throughout the United States that affects land values, rental agreements, conservation tillage and can greatly reduce yields. The use of Integrated Weed Management practices, such as use of residuals, pre-emergence herbicides and rotation of crops, traits and herbicides, is critical as no one method is likely to be completely successful. William Schroeder Portage, WI John Boyse Wellman, IA "I have been growing Miller Hybrids for 10 years and have been extremely pleased with the performance and service I have received from the products and staff at Miller. I especially like not having to buy all roundup corn or having to pay for insect traits I don't want." Joe Greif Coggon, Iowa High yields combined with the quality of Miller Seneca and Profusion alfalfas have helped me provide my hay customers with the best alfalfa that they need for their livestock and horses. Nic Wiesbrook Mineral Point, WI
