18 Tomato Farm S.p.A., owned today by Gavio Group, was born in 2006 by the will of a well known local tomatoes producer. He had always given his tomatoes to many companies, spread in many different areas of Italy, because of the lack of processing factories in Piemonte. This made it possible to enhance the productive and qualitative characteristics of the area: lands in rotation, professional agriculture, avaliability of water in order to irrigate and the possibility of transforming fresh raw materials coming from a maximum distance of 50 km from the processing building. In 2009 Gavio Group purchased some Tomato Farm s shares, keeping itself a part from the Management. In 2013, the Group acquired all the company shares and started managing the company by itself: since then it has further invested in machinery and spaces, making Tomato Farm one of the most technological and modern factories. 16
