5 KUSUM SCHEME (Kisan Urja Suraksha Evam Utthaan Mahaabhiyan) Ministry of New and Renewable Energy It is a 1.4 lakh-crore scheme for promoting decentralised solar power production of up to 28,250 MW to help farmers. It would provide extra income to farmers, by giving them an option to sell additional power to the grid through solar power projects set up on their barren lands. It would help DISCOMS also. The positive outcomes that are expected:- decentralized solar power production, reduction of transmission losses as well as providing support to the financial health of DISCOMs by reducing the subsidy burden to the agriculture sector. The scheme would also promote energy efficiency and water conservation and provide water security to farmers.

8 KISAN CREDIT CARD SCHEME Ministry of Finance Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme meets the financial requirements of farmers at various stages of farming. The scheme aims at providing adequate and timely credit support from the banking system under a single window with flexible and simplified procedure to the farmers for their cultivation and other needs as indicated below: To meet the short term credit requirements for cultivation of crops; Post-harvest expenses; Produce marketing loan; Consumption requirements of farmer household; Working capital for maintenance of farm assets and activities allied to agriculture; Investment credit requirement for agriculture and allied activities.

9 Objective Kisan Credit Card was extended to fishermen and cattle owners It will help people associated with milk production business in rural areas by providing financial assistance and also to fisheries. It will enable them to avail the easier loans Apart from this, financial assistance will also be provided to fisheries

10 NATIONAL BAMBOO MISSION Ministry of Agriculture Now Budget 2018 has ignited farm hope for this tree-turned-grass which once fuelled insurgency in the northeastern states. The allocation of 1,290 crore for a restructured National Bamboo Mission (NBM) has raised hopes for a range of bamboo-based industries from food processing to construction. The Budget provision is one of the best initiatives to promote holistic development of bamboo. Such initiatives will offer a permanent source of revenue generation to bamboo growers and communities owning bamboo groves

11 Objective National Bamboo Mission renamed as National Agro-Forestry & Bamboo Mission (NABM) Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has also proposed the proposal of National Bamboo Mission Rs. 1,290 crore will be allocated under this scheme to help development of bamboo production as an industry in the country... To promote the growth of the bamboo sector through as an area based regionally differentiated strategy To increase the coverage of area under bamboo in potential areas, with improved varieties to enhance yields To promote marketing of bamboo and bamboo based handicrafts

12 ANTI NARCOTICS SCHEME Ministry of Home Affairs The Assistance to States and UTs for Narcotics Control scheme has been extended by the Centre for a further period of 3 years -from to with an estimated budget of Rs 21 crore. The scheme was first launched on october 24,2014, for a period of five years, with a motive to prevent drug consumption and trafficking in the nation, the scheme got extended subsequently twice before this. The scheme aims to combat illicit trafficking in drugs and psychotropic substance. The purpose of the scheme is to assist state governments and Union Territories which are contributing in controlling the inter-state and cross border drug trafficking.

13 The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) being the national nodal agency for drug administration will process the requests from state governments and UTs for financial assistance for improving their enforcement capabilities in dealing with the supply side of the drug menace.

14 Key Points 1.The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has extended the Anti-Narcotics Scheme for 3 more years to combat illicit trafficking in drugs and psychotropic substances. The most common drugs of abuse are ganja, hashish, opium and heroin. The abuse of pharmaceutical preparations like buprenorphine, codeine based cough syrups and painkillers like proxivon has also assumed serious proportions...

15 1.The strategies would include both supply reduction and demand reduction. Supply reduction would include enforcement activities while demand reduction would involve rehabilitation and de-addiction measures. 2.Financial assistance will be provided under this Scheme to all the anti- narcotics agencies for strengthening their enforcement capabilities to combat illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. 3.The main objective of the scheme is to assist state governments and Union Territories which are contributing in controlling the inter-state and cross border drug trafficking

16 ATAL BHUJAL YOJANA Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation The Union Government has formulated ambitious water conservation scheme Atal Bhujal Yojana (ABY) to tackle everdeepening crisis of depleting groundwater level. The Rs 6,000-crore will be piloted under the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation.

17 The objective of scheme is to recharge ground water and create sufficient water storage for agricultural purposes. It also focuses on revival of surface water bodies so that ground water level can be increased, especially in the rural areas. It will give emphasis to recharging ground water sources and ensure efficient use of water by involving people at local level. The scheme after Cabinet s clearance will soon be launched in water-stressed states: Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. It will cover 78 districts, 193 blocks and more than 8,300 gram panchayats across these states.

18 The current status of groundwater is alarming, primarily due to non-uniform ground water development and its over-exploitation. According to report published by the Central Ground Water Board (Ground Water Assessment, 2011), out of 6,607 assessed administrative units 1,071 units are over ground water exploited, 217 units are critical, 697 units are semi-critical, and 4,530 units are safe. Moreover, there are 92 units are completely saline.

19 Gobar-Dhan Yojna (also known as Galvanizing Organic Bio-Agro Resource Fund scheme) In Union Budget 2018, the Finance Minister Arun Jaitely has announced about the new scheme for the villagers. The new scheme namely Gobar-dhan Scheme will soon be implemented in rural areas of the nation. The scheme will aim to make open defecation free villages and also will provide better life to the villagers of the nation. Under this scheme the solid waste and cattle dung will be composed into useful elements such as Bio-CNG and Bio-Gas. Dung process and convert: Under this scheme cattle dung will be processed and turning into useful elements that are needed in agricultural sector. Also further process will be done for the residual or solid waste that will be created after cattle dung processing will be used as fertilizers in lands as well.

20 Bio CNG / Bio Gas: These residuals and cattle dung will be converted into Bio-CNG and Bio-Gas for many uses in agricultural sector. Village Development Programs: According to the Finance Ministry, nearly 187 projects for the village improvement have been introduced, among which 47 projects have completed successfully. Rest of the projects are in progress. Budget Allocation: Rs. 16, 713 Cr has been allocated for village improvement programs. As per the records 115 districts have successfully implemented various village improvement programs and open defecation free livelihood. These districts will be considered as the indication of development of the villages.

21 Benefits of Gobar Dhan Scheme The main benefit of the Gobar Dhan Yojana will be to the Kisan brothers. Now they will be able to use the urine of animals. Under the dung can raise the level of life of the village. Under this scheme, stool urine in the open will be overcome. The source of income will be open to the farmers. This scheme will be made both fertilizer and bio. Farmer energy can be used to run engines and powerful diesel engines. Dung from the plot can also be used as manure.
