Estimated costs of foodgrain production, examined production incentives, and analyzed agricultural pricing policies in Bangladesh. Carried out a growth analysis for foodgrain production and identified sources of growth. Formulated policy recommendations for the USAID Mission in Bangladesh regarding food and agricultural assistance strategy. Investigated and authored USAID crop outlook series. Developed analytical models to estimate crop production and price movements of foodgrains. The Mission used these models and crop forecasts for decision-making regarding the PL-480 (U.S. food aid) program in Bangladesh. Conducted field level studies on irrigation performance and authored professional reports. Made frequent field observations to gather first-hand information on agro-economic conditions in respect to developing new programs or project activities.
