1 B) Export Department In order to boost the export of agriculture commodities from the State, MSAMB have taken several steps. It includes, find out importers from various countries, arrange to send samples of various fruits and processed foods, participate in national as well as international exhibitions/fairs to get new markets for agriculture produce, encourage growers and co-operative societies to export their produce directly through themselves. In the reporting year MSAMB has exported Alphonso & Kesar mangoes to USA & Japan. Also presently working on export of other products like Pomegranate, Banana, Orange, Onion, Mango Pulp, and Cashew nuts etc. Utilisation of export Facility Centres for exports- As a part of Agri Export Zone, MSAMB has erected export facility centers with the help APEDA, New Delhi, Co-operative societies & APMC.The Infra structure Facilities like Pre-cooling, coldstorage, Gradingline, Ripening chamber are available for exporter for commercial use of the facility. 4 Mango Export to USA Since Mango season 2007, the market of United States has been opened for Indian Mangoes. As per guidelines of USAD, It is mandatory to give Irradiation treatment to the fruit before export of Mango. As per tripartite agreement between BARC/BRIT &MSAMB, the Krushak Facility, Lasalgaon has been taken by MSAMB on lease basis which helps to open the doors of USA Market to Indian Mangoes like Alphonso & Kesar. Mumbai is main Hub for all agril commodities. Considering Importance of Mumbai, With the financial help of APEDA,New Delhi & Subsidy from RKVY Scheme,MSAMB has undertaken erction of Irradiation plant at Vashi having project cost Rs Crs. KRUSHAK Facility, Lasalgaon With the help of Exporters have processed Alphonso,Kesar, Banganpali, China rasalu, Rajapur Goa Mankur etc Varieties of mangoes & exported to USA. Mango Season Quantity exported to USA Approval for processing Onion &Onion Powder is obtained from A.E.R.B. From this facility, Onion Powder was also processed.doze mapping of Pomegranates is also completed from export point of view. MSAMB is also trying for taking trials for Resin processing. Vapour Heat Treatment Plant: As per guidelines of Japan & New Zealand, it is mandatory to give VHT treatment to Mango. At present this facility is available only with MSAMB. Maharashtra State Agricultural Marketing Board (MSAMB) with support and co-operation of Agricultural Processed Foods Export Development Authority (APEDA), New Delhi has set up VHT facility at Vashi in year having project cost of Rs Cr. The quantity of Agril produce processed at VHT Facility center is M.T. This facility was approved for Export Bitter Goard to European countries & 983 M.T Bitter goard was exported from this facility. In year 2013,VHT facility is also approved for exporting Mangoes to New Zeland.. Mango & Cashew Board Area under Mango & Cashew in India as well as Maharashtra is increasing very fast but there is an urgent need to increase the productivity of Mango & Cashew. To avoid losses in post-harvest management & processing, there is need to follow the practices by scientific way. To Support & to train the Mango & Cashew Growers, there is need to formed separate Board for Mango & Cashew. In this regards, Hon Minister of Agriculture & Marketing & Chairman of MSAMB has announced Core committee for formation of Mango & Cashew Boars under Chairmanship of Hon. Krushna Lavekar. 20

5 The Core committee conducted 5 Meetings & will be submit the report to Govt. of Maharashtra. Market Facilitation Centre Dubai MSAMB has established Market Facilitation Centre at Jafza Dubai. The officers of this office was participated in Gulf food 2013 & discuss with Fruit & Vegetables exporter regarding Supply of Fresh Fruit & Vegetables. The Market Facilitation Centre has got trading license which is required for Trading & import of Fresh Fruit & Vegetables, Processed Products, Storage, Transport etc. NOCs for Onion Exporter to export Onion MSAMB act as a Canalising agency for export of Onion in Maharashtra State & issue No objection Certificate to the registered Onion Exporters. In year MSAMB has issued 1914 NOCs through Pune, Nasik & Vashi offices to Various Onion Exporters & received Rs Lakhs as a Service charges. Agricultural Export Promotion Scheme: To boost the agro export from the state MSAMB has continued various schemes for farmers and entrepreneurs 1. Guidance to avail Import Export Code (IEC) and Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Agency (APEDA) Registration. 2. Provided country specific and product specific list of importers. 3. Provided export quality material to private exporters. 4. Conducted export after Quality checking, grading & packing. 5. Obtain and disseminate information on quality and packing standards in various countries. 21
