2 Agricultural Development Trust, Baramati College of Agriculture Baramati And Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, Thailand Experiential Learning Program in Horticulture Concept:- Experiential learning (EL) is philosophy and methodology in which educators purposefully engage with leaders in direct experience and focused reflection in order to increase knowledge, develop skill, entrepreneurship, and inculcate values. EL is for building skills in project development and execution, decision making, individual and team coordination, approach to problems solving, accounting, quality control, marketing and resolving conflicts, etc. the programme has end to end approach. Carefully calibrated activities move participants to explore and discover their own potential and in process, provide analytical skills and business acumen. Both activities and felicitation play a critical role in enhancing team performance. EL thus, provides the students an excellent opportunity to develop analytical and entrepreneurial skills, and knowledge through meaningful hands on experience, confidence in their ability to design and execute project work. Objectives: a) Acquisition of technical and managerial capabilities of designing, developing, maintaining a Hydroponics/Aquaponics facility; b) Enhancement of professional, entrepreneurial and practical skills through hands on working experience in a Hydroponics/Aquaponics facility; c) Comprehension of issues as well as potential of urban/peri-urban agriculture in context of urbanization, agribusiness, marketing and sustainability; d) Exposure to learning and networking environment of international multicultural multidisciplinary institute. e) To acquire enterprise management capabilities including skills for project development and execution, accountancy, national/international marketing, etc. 2 P a g e

3 Eligibility- Eligibility of colleges:- This programme should be only for M.P.K.V., Rahuri for Granted or Non granted affiliated Agriculture, Horticulture colleges are eligible for this programme. Eligibility of Student:- According to guideline, Students from M.P.K.V. Rahuri jurisdiction must have completed third or appeared at the last year of Bachelor s degree programme from Agriculture, Horticulture are eligible for this ELP programme. To get the eligibility for registering the EL programme, the students should have completed all the courses successfully till VI th semester. No student should be allowed to take up the EL programme with any backlog/repeat courses. The selection of the student for this EL programme shall be based on good academic performance /merit of the student at the end of VI th Semester. 30 students merit list will be displayed on basis of merit and financial capacities. 10 students would be in waiting list. Students enrolled at AIT will be provided library and learning facilities of AIT based on rules and regulations of AIT. Commencement of programme: Upon approval by MPKV, Rahuri, AIT, Bangkok is asked to start with the ELP module (Horticulture) is December Fee Structure- AIT, Bangkok University has proposed the following fee structure based on enrolled numbers for 30 students. The students are responsible for financing their own study programme at MPKV and AIT. AIT and MPKV Have no responsibility in the costs of the students will make. Fee per candidate in rupees- Air fare charges- approximately Rs. 18, /- Insurance Rs.2500/- Application processing and coordination fees Rs- 5000/- Food and living expenses- Approximately Rs. 10,000 per month. / 8000 Thai Baht Per month. Tuition fee- Rs. 1.5 lakh or Thai Bath (once) Total financial budget per student approximately: Lakhs. 3 P a g e

4 Duration (Day wise) The EL programme is to be offered for 180 days period in the final year at AIT. As the EL programme is enterprise oriented, Students and faculty are carry out differentactivities of the EL on all 180 days without any break.
