1 ECONOMICS & STATISTICS DIVISION STATE PLANNING INSTITUTE GOVERNMENT OF UTTAR PRADESH PRESS NOTE Dated: Lucknow, February, 2018 ADVANCE ESTIMATES OF STATE INCOME, (Base Year ) The Economics and Statistics Division of the State Planning Institute, Uttar Pradesh has released the Advance Estimates of State Income at constant( ) and current prices for the financial year on the base year The Advance Estimates for the year both at current and constant ( ) prices are derived as per the methodology provided by Central Statistical Office, Government Of India(GOI), New Delhi and by following All India First Advance Estimates released on as well as by using the provisional data of targets and achievements provided by various related departments of the State Government. 3. The significant features of the Advance Estimates of Gross State Domestic Product(GSDP) and Net State Domestic Product(NSDP) of U.P. for the year are as follows:- (i) The growth of GSDP at constant ( ) prices for the year is estimated to be 6.5%. (ii) As per the estimates of gross state value added (GSVA) at constant ( ) prices for the year the Primary, Secondary and Tertiary sectors of the economy show a growth of 2.4 %, 3.5 % and 8.7 % respectively. Thus the growth in Tertiary sector is highest. (iii) The growth of NSDP at constant ( ) prices for the year is estimated to be 6.6%. (iv) The Per Capita Income of U.P for the year (in terms of NSDP at current prices) has shown a growth of 7.0%. Per Capita Income has increased from Rs in to `53700 in (v) Sectorial distribution of GSVA at current price for the year is (a)primary Sector- 26.7%,(b)Secondary Sector- 22.8% and (c)tertiary Sector-50.5 %. The detail description of the estimates is as follows: ESTIMATES AT CONSTANT ( ) PRICES Gross State Domestic Product at Market Price (GSDP) 4. GSDP at constant prices for the years is likely to attain a level of ` crore as against the Quick Estimates of GSDP for the year of `966619Crore showing a growth of 6.5%. Gross State Value Added at Basic Prices (GSVA) 5. GSVA at constant prices for the years is likely to attain a level of `951122crore as against the Quick Estimates of GSVA for the year of `898546crore showing a growth of 5.9%.

2 6. The Primary, Secondary and Tertiary sectors are likely to register a growth of 2.4 %, 3.5 % and 8.7% respectively in Industry wise Analysis Agriculture and Animal Husbandry 7. The estimates of Crop subsector have been prepared mainly using the Crop wisesecond Advance Estimates of Area and Production as provided by Directorate of Agriculture, Govt. of U.P. and First Advance Estimates Data on Area Production and Productivity provided by Directorate of Horticulture,Govt. of U.P. The GSVA of Crop subsector is likely to show a growth of 2.0 % over previous year. 8. The estimates of Livestock subsector have been prepared mainly using the milk, egg and wool production data provided by Animal Husbandry Department Govt. Of U.P. and rates & ratios provided by CSO. The GSVA of Livestock subsector is likely to show a growth of 3.5% over previous year. Industry 9. The main indicators used to estimate industry sector estimates are All India Wholesale Price Index (WPI), All India Index of Industrial Production (IIP) and MCA21 Database. The GSVA of manufacturing subsector is likely to reach `108433crore showing a growth of3.1% over previous year. Services 10. The GSVA of services sector is likely to show a growth of 8.7% over previous year The main indicators used to estimate service sector estimates are preceding 3 year's average growth rate and CPI Misc. of preceding nine months(april-december) of Net State Domestic Product at Market Price (NSDP) 11. NSDP at constant prices for the years is likely to attain a level of `901147crore as against the Quick Estimates of NSDP for the year of `845748crore showing a growth of 6.6%. ESTIMATES AT CURRENT PRICE Gross State Domestic Product at Market Prices (GSDP) 12. GSDP at current prices for the years is likely to attain a level of ` crore. Gross State Value Added at Basic Prices (GSVA) 13. GSVA at current prices for the years is likely to attain a level of ` crore. 14. The GSVA of Primary, Secondary and Tertiary sectors are likely to attain a level of `330631crore, `281894crore and `624203crore respectively in Net State Domestic Product at Market Prices (NSDP) 15. NSDP at current prices for the years is likely to attain a level of ` crore. Per Capita Income 16. Per Capita Income of State at current prices (in terms of NSDP at current prices) is likely to attain a level of `53700 in as against `50203 in showing an increase of 7.0%.
