It is hard to imagine that we have reached that milestone with our program, but it is thanks to those that have found value from our cattle. We value your interest and your faith in our genetics. We have focused on producing genetics that have been tested and raised under real world conditions. We are steadfast in our commitment to produce cattle that will work for you on grass and forage, not expensive high inputs. We believe there needs to be a balance between maximizing growth and maximizing profits. We think this is our best offering of bulls ever. We are pleased with their muscle, growth and kind. The bulls performed ideally on forage with an average Fat of.23. These bulls are strong, fit and athletic and ready to breed cows. Many of our bulls gain weight during breeding season if handled properly and we think this group will do that as others have. We will sell no fat bulls that melt after you buy them and have little libido or can t move around the pasture to breed cows. We are offering a great group of females from the heart of our program and replacement pens. We are also offering a very special cow in 7L14 and her top-indexing daughter 3F7. This kind is hard to part with but it s the kind we need out in the industry for others to capitalize on. The registered and commercial heifers will sell in sister groups as before and are matched for quality, kind and breeding. They are all sired by Tokeena bulls here or at our customer s place. They were brought here at weaning, developed on forage and are now ready to earn their keep in your program. 19 A National Historic Angus Herd Focusing On Low-Maintenance Forage Based Cattle For 70 Years The Tokeena Angus program is built on sustainability, function and profitability as well as innovation. Our location in the Southeast part of the country means that cattle must perform and function on available feed and the cheapest feed then and now is grass. The cattle at Tokeena Angus are required to perform at optimum levels on grass and low-cost forage for profitability. The Tokeena program has been at the forefront of utilizing technology to measure and evaluate their cattle for their own profitability as well as the profitability of their customers. Genetic lines from across the country have been put to the test at Tokeena. Those that function as required stayed, and those that did not pass the test were culled The Tokeena program is one of balance.
