Horticulture Name of the beneficiary: Soma Oraon Area: 1 Acre Types of Plants: Mango Total no. of Plants: 150 Cost of per plant: Rs. 100/- Year of Plantation: Input: DAP ½ Kg, Vermi Compost 5 Kg, Karanj Cake ½ Kg. Irrigation Facility: From the pond constructed nearby the plot. 2. New Pond Name of the beneficiary: Community Year of Construction: Size: 90 x 80 x 12 Command Area: 2 ha. Water Level: Recommendation: Keeping the rill erosion in view, it was suggested for grass pitching around the bund of the pond. Benefit: Seven households are getting benefit through this pond. Remarks: Good. Fishery work is also being done in this pond. Approximately 2-3 kgs of fish fingerlings were put in the pond for further production. Mango plants were also planted on the bunds of the pond.

Horticulture Name of the beneficiary: Soma Oraon Area: 1.5 Acre Types of Plants: Mango & Guava Total no. of Plants: 100 & 50 Cost of per plant: Rs. 100/- Year of Plantation: Input: DAP ½ Kg, Vermi Compost 5 Kg, Karanj Cake ½ Kg. Irrigation Facility: From the pond constructed nearby. Survival Rate: 100% (approx.) Recommendation: To start intercropping with pulses between the gaps of the two plants. To use termite powder instead of lime for controlling termite attack and to spray the insecticide at regular intervals. The wasteland has been developed into productive land by the plantation work. 4. New Pond Name of the beneficiary: Soma Oraon Year of Construction: Size: 100 x 80 x10 Command Area: 2 ha. Water Level: 1 from the bottom Recommendation: Keeping the rill erosion in view, it was suggested for grass pitching around the bund of the pond. Water Level: 3 from the bottom. Benefit: Seven households are getting benefit through this pond. Remarks: Good. Fishery work is also being practiced in this pond. Water Level: 1 from the bottom. Remarks: Good.

Name of the Chairmen: Vishnu Pahan Name of the Secretary: Lakhan Oraon Activities: 1. Horticulture Name of the beneficiary: Gopal Sahay Area: 1.30 Acre Types of Plants: Mango & Papaya Total no. of Plants: 360 Cost of per plant: Rs. 100/- Year of Plantation: Survival Rate: 100%(approximately) Input: DAP ½ Kg, Vermi Compost 5 Kg, Karanj Cake ½ Kg. Irrigation Facility: From the pond constructed nearby the plot. Water Level: 2 from the bottom. Recommendation: Keeping the rill erosion in view, it was suggested for grass pitching around the bund of the pond. Benefit: Ten households are getting benefit through this pond. This pond is

6 facilitating in the fishery work, paddy cultivation, vegetable farming and horticulture. 3. Field Bunding Name of the beneficiary: Meghu Mahto, Manoj Kumar, Biswanath Mahto, Santosh Mahto, Balmukund Mahto, Rampal Mahto, Paltu Mahto, Ramnandan Mahto & Bhagirathi Mahto. Area: 8 ha. Benefit: Earlier the plot was barren land which was converted into arable land after bunding. This has ensured uniform application and distribution of water throughout the field which helped in maintaining maximum yield per unit volume of water. It is also beneficial in irrigated areas to conserve moisture and increase irrigation efficiency. It has impounded the runoff water which is absorbed gradually into soil profile for crop use. 4. New Pond Name of the beneficiary: Manoj Kumar Sahu & Biswanath Sahu Year of Construction: Estimated Cost: Rs.3,96,600/- Actual Cost Incurred: Rs.3,47,111/- Size: 120 x 100 x 12 Command Area: 2 ha. Water Level: 2 from the bottom. Recommendation: Keeping the rill erosion in view, it was suggested for grass pitching around the bund of the pond. Benefit: Ten households are getting benefit through this pond.

Water Level: 2 from the bottom. Recommendation: Keeping the rill erosion in view, it was suggested for grass pitching around the bund of the pond. New Pond Name of the beneficiary: Pachhu Linda Village: Chamguru Panchayat: Gaagi Year of Construction: Estimated Cost: Rs.2,22,160/- Actual Cost Incurred: Rs.1,97,587/- Size: 126 x 112 x 12 Command Area: 4 ha. Water Level: Newly constructed, no water at present. Recommendation: Keeping the rill erosion in view, it was suggested for grass pitching around the bund of the pond. 2. Livelihood- Goatry Total No. of SHGs in village: Five Name of the SHG interacted: Mahila Kisan Mandal Village: Khantanga Panchayat: Gaagi Formation Year: 2006 No. of Members: 11 Chairmen Name: Rita Devi Secretary Name: Basanti Devi Treasurer Name: Sheela Devi Date of Meeting: Every week on sunday Amount of Savings: Rs. 10/- per member Rate of Interest: Rs.5/- per hundred for internal members and Rs.10/- per hundred for external members. IGA engaged in: Goatry Remarks: The SHG was found to be very responsive. The common interest for income generating activity was found among the members. The book keeping and other records were found satifcatory. The SHGs have got the trainings on various themes like goatry, use of SRI techniques, watershed management, agriculture, tailoring and book keeping etc. and exposure visits to Nagri Block of Ranchi District. 4.
