2 GLOBALG.A.P. The Global Partnership for Safe & Sustainable Agriculture G.A.P. stands for Good Agricultural Practices and GLOBALG.A.P. is the worldwide standard that assures it. We re a global organization with a crucial objective: safe, sustainable agriculture worldwide. We set voluntary standards for the certification of agricultural products around the globe and more and more producers, suppliers and buyers are harmonizing their certification standards to match. OUR PURPOSE GLOBALG.A.P. members create private sector incentives for agricultural producers worldwide to adopt safe and sustainable practices to make this world a better place to live for our children. OUR MISSION Globally connecting farmers and brand owners in the production and marketing of safe food to provide reassurance for consumers. We lay the foundation for the protection of scarce resources by the implementation of Good Agricultural Practices with a promise for a sustainable future.

3 Guy Callebaut Vice-Chairman of the Board VBT/BelOrta, Grower GLOBALG.A.P. Chairman of the Board The family farm continues to be a core focus of our strategies toward developing solutions to address food safety, food security, and social and environmental sustainability. By helping growers implement Good Agricultural Practices we can generate the required effects on the ground to enable small-scale farmers meet retail and manufacturer markets. And we gain the recognition of large customers aiming to meet their consumers demands. However, we need and must work on new approaches that will make it easier, more cost effective, and more attractive for farmers worldwide to adopt safe and sustainable production practices. GLOBALG.A.P. is playing its role in bringing together the relevant partners in Our industry solutions and collaboration efforts are more than ever driven by our conviction that Good Agricultural Practices can play a key role in increasing yields and reducing the environmental impact of farming at a global scale. Kristian Moeller GLOBALG.A.P. CEO and Secretary 2014 is all about collaboration. The seeds we cultivated in 2013 have made us a strong partner on many fronts. GLOBALG.A.P. has clearly established itself as a global solution for farm assurance applicable to all farm sizes, with no ambition to compete with consumer-facing labels, downstream supply chain partners, or government audit systems. GLOBALG.A.P. extends its partnership to other global and local systems and market players seeking efficient and effective mainstream solutions for a secure and sustainable future to feed the planet. We offer a clear focus on food safety paired with other significant elements of Good Agricultural Practices, a transparent and robust integrity system equipped with an increasing flexibility to respond to market requirements, and modular and customized solutions for certification, farm assessments, and capacity building. 11 Chain of Custody (CoC) Traceability from the Farm to the Market Shelf Transparency throughout the supply chain guarantees the integrity of your product and reassures your customers. The GLOBALG.A.P. Chain of Custody Standard (CoC) is an essential add-on for all producers and retailers handling GLOBALG.A.P. certified products. It ensures that any product sold as a GLOBALG.A.P. certified product is sourced from GLOBALG.A.P. certified farms. With the revision of the standard started in 2013, the GLOBALG.A.P. Chain of Custody Standard is now available for a wide range of GLOBALG.A.P. certified aquaculture, livestock and crops products. In 2014, the 30-day public consultation period took place, allowing stakeholders to submit their comments on the draft of the new Chain of Custody V5 Standard. How GLOBALG.A.P. Chain of Custody Works The GLOBALG.A.P. Chain of Custody Standard guarantees the traceability, transparency and integrity of your product throughout its entire lifecycle, from the farm to the market shelf. It identifies the status of your product throughout the entire supply chain and lays out strict requirements for handling certified products and the proper segregation of certified and non-certified produce. The backbone of the system is the GLOBALG.A.P. Number (GGN) that identifies the certified producer or the CoC certified company. GGN Traceability ensured through the GLOBALG.A.P. Bookmarking ACCOunt Certified producers Strict segregation of certified and non-certified products CoC GLOBALG.A.P. It makes it easy to manage and monitor the certification status of your GLOBALG.A.P. certified producers on a regular basis. 12 Plant Propagation Material (ppm) Safety Starts at the Roots We believe that the seed is the source of horticultural production and as such the first link in a long chain that reaches the consumer. The nursery is not simply a supplier but an integral part of the production process and must be as committed as farmers and traders. GLOBALG.A.P. Certification, in addition to reassuring the farmers, shows we are serious about our role in the supply chain and helps us facilitate the management of our customers. We ve been talking about quality assurance and veterinarians on farms for at least 15 years. It s a long time ago that we started and I think this is the day when the tree has grown and perhaps we can start picking the fruits. GLOBALG.A.P. forced us to standardize our business and bring it up to a certain level. We re spread out over four different farms and different grain areas with different weather climates. Standardizing all the principles actually benefited us in making farming a lot easier for us. I congratulate GLOBALG.A.P. for coming to South Africa. I m sure it s going to be the beginning of a new impetus in quality assurance on farm and veterinary involvement. Thank you! Dr. Peter Davies Green Veterinary Group SALivestockGAP By having all the controls and checks in place, we can monitor all our inputs and make sure we maintain a certain level across the board. We were probably one of the first farms that got GLOBALG.A.P. certified in South Africa and we are reaping the rewards now. Gavin Williams Rennie Farms South Africa 34 GLOBALG.A.P. Products Report

In this case, the certification body must apply for an exception where it can demonstrate that the auditor/inspector has additional qualifications. With the new GRASP General Regulations Version 1.2, certification bodies need an In-House Trainer for GRASP. This has replaced the GRASP Training for Auditors. Human respect is fundamental for our company. By adopting GRASP, we have a responsible approach for addressing the important social issues that all producers face.
