1 STUDY OF CUSTOMER SATISFACTION FOR HBPL BIO-FERTILIZERS AND OTHER AGRICULTURE INPUTS WITHIN FARMERS OF THE UP REGION Mr. Ravi Raj 1, Prof. Ujwala Bairagi 2 1 MIT School of Management, Pune 2 Student, MBA Marketing Research Project Guide ABSTRACT Agriculture has always been the main stay of people of India for over 0 years. About 3/4 th of making population of India is engaged in cultivation the prettily of land is losing dayby day due to repeated cultivation. Organic manure alone was used to sustain the partiality of the soil in ancient days. There was severe scarcity for food grains during their Second World War and the country had to increase the productivity by using chemical fertilizers. Chemical fertilizers differ radically from other product in the kind of satisfaction provided to the customer. Fertilizers provided only an indirect satisfaction that too, only fit used as a part or total package of scientific forming practice volume wise to the customer products were not much a model to the fertilizers. This particular study is conducted mainly to know the farmers satisfaction level with Harsidhi Biotech Fertilizer, this study was conducted in East Champaran district of Bihar state. India s 60% populations are farmers so it s an apt study to know the farmers opinion about the Biotech fertilizers. Data were collected from 63 respondents consists of Farmers in East Champaran district by using the convenience sampling method. A structured questionnaire was administered to collect primary data. Here in East Champaran district most of them prefer cultivating Potato, Corn, Wheat and paddy. Other small cultivations are been doing by farmers. Biotech fertilizers are widely used by the customers in Champaran areas where fertilizers are preferred most. The main objective of the study was to find out the satisfaction level from the use of Biotech fertilizers and to check the level of awareness about Harsidhi biotech products. From the study, it was found that 70% of existing customers of HBPL are satisfied and 6% of customers are highly satisfied with HBPL products. I. INTRODUCTION Harsidhi Biotech pvt ltd is an Agro Biotech Company, working in domain of agriculture and allied industry with a vision to make agricultural activity more Efficient, Organic & Self Suitable. Our constant effort is to device product and practices, which is beneficial to farms as well as farmers. The group is managed and controlled closely by agriculturist who is intrinsically engaged with agriculture and typing organic way of farming. The group has huge stake in agro product production, processing and storage. This initiative of producing Bio inputs completes the cycle from organic input to Organic output. 278 P a g e

2 India is one of the world s largest and oldest agrarian economics. Agriculture is the backbone of Indian economy. Threats in agricultural production such as pests, loss of soil fertility and lack of nutrients may result in low percentage of plants to harvest. If these problems are not addressed, there would not be enough crops which compose a big fraction of our food supply to sustain the needs of the people. Hence, the importance of using fertilizers rises. Fertilizer is one of the key industries in India being an essential input for agriculture production. Sharp increase in agriculture production in our country rightly attributed to increasing production and consumption of fertilizer. India stands 3rd in the consumption of fertilizer. Organic and inorganic fertilizer made through the fertilizer companies such as IPL, SPIC, MFL, KRIBHCO, IFFCO, RCF, COROMONDEL, and FACT. These are some of the leading fertilizer production companies which mainly distributed all over Bihar. Manufacturers offer their products to farmers through dealers under different brand names. Fertilizer has been universally accepted as an integral part of package in practice for raising Indian agriculture to a higher technological plank. It is estimated that the fertilizers in association with water can enhance output by about 70 per cent. Nearly, 50 per cent of the increased food grain productions in the last decade in the world come from the increased use of fertilizers. Fertilizer is an organic or inorganic material of natural or synthetic origin that is added to a soil to supply one or more plant nutrients essential to the growth of plants. Conservative estimates report 30% to 50% of crop yields are attributed to natural or synthetic commercial fertilizer. Organic fertilizer includes animal manure, household wastes, plant materials (including crop residues), and compost made from one or more of these sources. In addition to providing nutrients, organic fertilizers contribute to soil quality by improving the structure, chemistry and biological activity level of soil. 1.2 Objective of Research A research objective is a clear, concise, declarative statement which provides direction to investigate the variables. Research objective are the result sought by the researcher at the end of the research process, i.e. what the researcher will be able to achieve at the end of the research study. The Major Objective of this research is; To study level of customer satisfaction for Harsidhi Biotech Bio-Fertilizers. II. RESEARCH METHODOLOGY Research methodology is a method used to systematically solve the research problem. The present study is about To Study Customer Satisfaction for Harsidhi Biotech Pvt ltd Bio-Fertilizers and other Agriculture Inputs within Farmers of the region. The descriptive nature of the research necessitated collection of primary data from farmers through market survey. Personal Interview method will be used and interview would be conducted through Structure questionnaire. With the help of the questionnaires I will try to analyse each and every factor which is responsible for the satisfaction level of Farmers in East Champaran district of Bihar toward Harsidhi Biotech Pvt Ltd. Study will include the market awareness about Harsidhi Biotech products. In this study Non-Probabilistic Convenience Sampling method was adopted to the sample size of overall 63 Farmers from, Bihar region. 279 P a g e

4 All 0% (n=42) Existing customers of HBPL rated their satisfaction about price on scale of 5 (1= Highly Dissatisfied, 2= Dissatisfied, 3= Neutral, 4= Satisfied&5= Highly Satisfied). 0% (n=0) rated 1, 5% (n=2) rated 2, 25% (n=11) rated 3, 65% (n=27) rated 4 and 5% (n=2) rated 5. From above we can interpret that approximately 65% of customers have rated to 4 i.e. farmers are satisfied with the price of HBPL products Satisfaction for Quality No. of Respondents All 0% (n=42) Existing customers of HBPL rated their satisfaction about Quality of Fertilizer on scale of 5 (1= Highly Dissatisfied, 2= Dissatisfied, 3= Neutral, 4= Satisfied&5= Highly Satisfied). 0% (n=0) rated 1, 0% (n=0) rated 2, 24% (n=) rated 3, 70% (n=29) rated 4 and 6% (n=3) rated 5.From above we can interpret that approximately 70% of customers have rated to 4 i.e. farmers are satisfied with the Quality of HBPL products. 281 P a g e

5 Satisfaction for Availability No. of Respondents All 0% (n=42) Existing customers of HBPL rated there satisfaction about availability of Fertilizer on scale of 5 (1= Highly Dissatisfied, 2= Dissatisfied, 3= Neutral, 4= Satisfied&5= Highly Satisfied). 0% (n=0) rated 1, 0% (n=0) rated 2, 24% (n=) rated 3, 74% (n=31) rated 4 and 2% (n=1) rated 5.From above we can interpret that approximately 75% of customers have rated to 4 i.e. farmers are satisfied with the Availability of HBPL products. Overall Satisfaction No of Respondents All 0% (n=42) Existing customers of HBPL rated there satisfaction on scale of 5 (1= Very Poor, 2= Poor, 3= Good, 4= Very Good & 5= Excellent). 0% (n=0) rated 1, 0% (n=0) rated 2, 21% (n=9) rated 3, 65% (n=27) rated 4 and 14% (n=6) rated 5.From above we can interpret that approximately 65% of customers have rated to 4 i.e. farmers are overall satisfied with HBPL products. CONCLUSION Harsidhi Biotech Pvt ltd is a growing company in Fertilizer Industry. It s a new brand in Market and doing business since from last 4 years, there is always a scope for Improvement. Following are the few suggestions which I found may help Harsidhi Biotech Pvt ltd to improve their business. As 33% of the customers not use Bio-Fertilizer therefore there is an opportunity of generating business by focusing on these customers. 282 P a g e

6 HBPL has to work on the promotions of their other products excluding Vasudha Bio-Organic Manure, Bio- Fertilizers and Bio-Booster to create the awareness about those products.
