1 Job Information Pack Position Summary Property Name: Business Summary: Nokomai Station Nokomai Station has been in the Hore family for the past 60 years and is a traditional South Island high country station, running sheep and beef with breeding and finishing. Nokomai Station has a wealth of history attached through its farming and gold mining. Operating as a tourist attraction, the Nokomai Valley Lodge gives guests the opportunity to immerse themselves in the Station life and learn about New Zealand farming. Job Title: Position Overview: Experienced Shepherd As this position is 95% stock work you will require good mustering and stockmanship skills and preferably at least two years shepherding experience, with some of this being on hill country. A strong team of working dogs will be required, a minimum of 4-6. It would also be beneficial if you could ride a horse, but this is not a prerequisite. As the Experienced Shepherd, you will report directly to the Head Shepherd. Specialist Skills Required: Mustering Stockmanship Good team of working dogs a minimum of four Ability to work well within a team environment Excellent communication skills due to size of property Understanding of health and safety Restricted / Full Drivers Licence Duration of Position: Proposed Start Date: Accommodation: Full-time Permanent ASAP Accommodation is available within the singles quarters. This role is fully found with a cookhouse and meals provided. Partner Work Opportunities N/A Lifestyle Information Farm Location & Community Information: The property is one hour from Queenstown in the Lumsden area which is an excellent and friendly community. The Mataura River is known for its abundance in brown trout, providing a popular destination for fishing. There is also hunting available on the property.
