3 Accommodations The event will be taking place at Manitou Springs Resort and Mineral Spa and Danceland Manitou, Saskatchewan Phone Toll-free A block of rooms is set aside under the Holistic Management Conference until January 19th for $ (taxes included) which includes a hot breakfast and access to the mineral spa Children s/babysitter Program There will be a children s program as well. If you are a first timer this is the session for you. If you are a seasoned veteran, this is also a session for you. Join us in one of the introductory session or advanced level session. The Canadian team of Holistic Educators will be discussing their experiences. Welcome all the mission is to educate people to achieve a triple bottom line: healthy land, happy people and profitable operations. They will accomplish this by motivating, supporting and training farmers, ranchers and land stewards through the practice of Holistic Management. Beginners will get the basic principles and the advanced levels will have a review of the basics plus a few advanced tips. 8 Monday 16th. 2:00 PM 3:00 PM Jodie Griffin Livestock Price Insurance Program Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture - Under Growing Forward 2 (GF2), livestock producers in Western Canada have access to a new risk management tool to help withstand volatility in the market. The Western Livestock Price Insurance Program (WLPIP) will enable livestock producers to protect themselves against unexpected price declines, by allowing them to purchase insurance coverage while still being able to take advantage of favorable market conditions, if livestock prices should rise. Producers will select from a range of coverage and policy options to help them manage price risk. 3:00 PM 3:30 PM Coffee Break 3:30 PM 4:30 PM Blain Hjertaas Regenerative Agriculture Regenerative agriculture is agriculture that builds. It builds soils by increasing organic matter which sequesters carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. As organic matter increases so does water retention minimizing runoff. As organic matter increases so does biological life which translates into more nutrient dense food being produced. As organic matter increases so do yields making more profitable farmers. Debra has a B.Sc. in Agriculture with a major in Crop Science from the University of Alberta. Since graduating, Debra was accepted to attend this year's Youth Ag Summit, is participating in the Cattlemen's Young Leaders program and co-managed the family farm in east central Alberta, where she began to truly admire the role social media has in agriculture. There's rumor of a live Thumbs Up, Thumbs Down piece and maybe even Talking to Farmers.
