10 Governmental investment in a new lab In June 2016, an partnership was set up between CRIQ and CHUQ, a regroupment of hospitals in the region of Quebec City From this partnership, governmental funding was obtained to set up a new additive manufacturing lab dedicated to the development of new applications of AM in the medical field. The lab is being set up as we speak, and should be completed by the end of the year Targets : Get ISO certification (including design) by summer 2019 Get a Health Canada license for a first product by winter 2020

11 Early focus : Patient-specific orthopaedic implants

12 Why CRIQ for orthopeadic implants? Field where the customisation to a patient is a huge advantage and where direct cost is often secondary as indirect savings can be achieved Shorter sugeries (about 20%, sometimes more), meaning medical personnel being freed up quicker for other tasks Less use of blood banks For the patient, faster recovery and improved comfort/aesthetics Sometimes, no standard solution exists! Few companies have this capability at the moment (regulatory barrier). CRIQ can pave the way for future companies. From our partnership with CHUQ, we are closely connected on the needs of the medical personnel
