2 Welcome Address Dear Colleagues, On behalf of the YABEC 2015 Organizing Committee, it is our great pleasure to invite you to the 21st Annual Symposium of the Young Asian Biochemical Engineers' Community (YABEC), which will be held at Elysian Gangchon Resort in Korea during October It is a proud tradition that YABEC symposium has been held annually without any interruption since the first meeting held in Seoul, Korea in Our society is facing unprecedented challenges including resources shortage, environmental deterioration, biodiversity loss, and economic and social imbalances. We will prepare this YABEC2015 with overall theme Rejuvenating the Far East Asia with Biotechnology to cope with the unprecedented challenges. We are confident that this event will bring together scientists, engineers, business leaders and government officials to foster and enhance collaborative contacts, and to exchange information in many interdisciplinary areas of modern biotechnologies. We will prepare special sessions for specific areas in order to give real YABECians get to know each other and have chances to collaborate internationally. We hope YABEC can help rejuvenate Asia. We look forward to welcoming you in Elysian Gangchon Resort in October Choul-Gyun Lee Chairman, Organizing Committee of YABEC 2015 Professor, Inha University
