STEP 1 Natural juices are collected from a squeezing of the fruit: through a concentration under vacuum at 85 C the water content is reduced, thus providing the food grade juices. STEP 2 Evaporated waters enriched with natural volatile aromatic components are condensed by aqueous steam cooling and then filtrated and collected. STEP 3 A reverse osmotic technique allows to separate substances with different concentration: S is released Aromatic emulsions are retained Brasca has built up a successful partnership with a European producer of concentrated Mediterranean citrus juices, whose modern plant is set in the south of Italy, a strategic organic sourcing position. Our manufacturing technology is a simple soft process based on physical steps that do not affect the natural components of the fruit. That is to say: our organic water line is defined as 100% Organic, since it is naturally contained by Organic certified fruits. Neither addition of water nor chemical processes have been applied. 9 BETTER THAN WATER: A PHYSIOLOGICAL ANSWER FOR A PROTECTIVE ACTIVITY A biological base, physiologically ACTIVE MORE THAN WATER: S are not mineral waters, produced by non-living entities, but are issued from a living vegetal entity, offering a composition closer to the one of our skin cells. Brasca performed in vitro and in vivo safety tests in order to detect: Skin sensitization potential (Shelanski & Shelanski method) were performed. CYTOFRUIT WATERS resulted as non allergenic and non irritant; Eye irritating potential (in vitro Het Cam test): reported products as non-irritant. The product is considered not to be toxic (> 2000 mg/kg) because obtained by the concentration of food grade juices, without any solvent manipulation or addition of any further substances. 11 REACH REGULATION Reg. 1907/2006/EC SAFE for Environment REGULATORY CONFORMITY S have been analyzed for their conformity to cosmetic legislation requirements: The S BIO product lines both comply with generally recognized microbiology requirements since Total Bacterical Count is less than 10 UFC/g and pathogens such as S. Aureus, P. Aeruginosa and C. Albicans are absent; S BIO comply with European Directive 2003/15/EC regarding the presence of the 26 substances identified as allergenic in cosmetics. Reverse Osmosis is used during the production process, helping to avoid the presence of allergens. Analytical data were performed. The products do not contain any substances intentionally added and classified as Carcinogenic, Mutagenic or Reprotoxic, category 1, 2 or 3 according to annex I of the Directive 67/548/EEC and its amendments, as the use of these substances is prohibited by the Directive 76/768/EC; The products have never been tested on animals accordingly to Directive 2003/15/EC (VII amendment of Dir. 76/768/ EC), that came into force on 11/03/2009 for cosmetic ingredients; Heavy metals are not present or added: if any, they would be in traces, as defined by Directive 76/768/EEC; The products comply with Regulation 1907/2006/EC (REACH Regulation). 21
