University,Zhoushan ,China) Abstract : Study on the morphology of the haemocytes of the cuttlefish Se piella maind roni was conducted by the method of histo2 logical staining in this paper. The average density of haemocytes was cells/ ml. The haemocytes of the cuttlefish S. main2 d roni were classified into two types, hyalinocytes and granulocytes,according to the characteristics of the haemocytes. Hyalinocytes with the size of m,were roundness,the nucleolus were also roundness surrounded by relatively small cytoplasm,there were little granule in cytoplast,the nucleus/ cytoplasm (N/ C) ratio was higher ( ),and the proportion of haemocytes was % in the total haemocytes. Granulocytes with the size of m were roundness,there were much granules in the en2 doplasm and the N / C ratio was lower ( ),some of the granulocytes had double nuclei,and the proportion of granulocytes was % in the total haemocytes. This research might be a foundation for further study on haemocytes immune of S. maind roni. Key words : Se piella maind roni ;haemocytes ;morphology ;classification
