ADVANCING THE FUTURE OF INDUSTRY TO SERVE SOCIETY AND SAFEGUARD THE ENVIRONMENT DuPont Industrial Biosciences is working to reform the way we produce and consume Renewable Agricultural Resources RENEWABLE SOURCES Industrial Scale Conversion Biochemical Transformation Sustainable, High- Performance Products BIOACTIVES BIOMATERIALS BIOFUELS 2

DUPONT PROUDLY PLAYS A LEADING ROLE IN THE EMERGING BIOECONOMY DuPont provides an unparalleled integrated approach to biomaterials R&D through to commercialization. $1.5 billion in Industrial Biosciences revenue 30+ years of research $200+ million in biomaterials R&D 2,000+ biomaterials patents World s most advanced biomaterials plants Biotech supply network and NGO partners in 80 countries 500+ experts in biotechnology, materials science, life cycle assessment Award-Winning innovation including the Presidential Green Chemistry Award 3

DuPont Biomaterials Vision To create high-performance renewable materials accessible to everyone, and to impact the sustainability of households around the world. RENEWABLE SOURCING SCALABLE SUPPLY INNOVATIVE SCIENCE RESPONSIBLE BIOMATERIALS ACCESSIBLE & AFFORDABLE HIGH PERFORMANCE

PTF: 100% RENEWABLE POLYESTER WITH SUPERIOR BARRIER PERFORMANCE Polytrimethylene Furandicarboxylate (PTF) A novel polyester made from FDME and Bio-PDO TM (1,3-propanediol) FDME Bio-PDO Superior gas barrier properties Recyclable polymer 100% renewable polymer Enables smarter packaging More packaging with recycled materials Reduces dependence on petrochemicals 5

RESPONSIBLE SOURCING PRACTICES FOR PTF FEEDSTOCK To minimize environmental impact, PTF uses resource-efficient renewable biomass that will offer an alternative to petroleum-based materials. A highly efficient feedstock-to-product conversion minimizes land, energy, water and fertilizer required to produce PTF. Biomass is grown on land that has been cultivated for generations, limiting impact on biodiversity and the release of GHG emissions. PTF production processes use only starch; our partners sell the remaining parts of the plant into the animal feed and consumer products markets. Biomass suppliers are active members of Field to Market, an agricultural organization that works to measure and improve the sustainability of our partners agricultural supply chains. 7

DUPONT AND THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY DuPont recognizes that offering plant-based alternatives is just one piece of developing materials for a circular economy. PTF s barrier performance offers ability to reduce overall volume of packaging material. PTF is recyclable in PTF streams. DuPont is actively engaging with key influencers on PTF recycling for food and beverage packaging. Source: U.S EPA 8

THERMAL PROPERTIES: TPA-BASED POLYESTERS VS. PTF Terephthalate based Furanoate based PROPERTY PET PTT PBT PTF Decomposition temperature (Deriv. Weight, C) Glass transition temperature (T g, C) Melting point (T m, C) On replacing TPA with FDCA, Tg remains about same and decomposition temperature increases On replacing EG with PDO, Tm decreases Reduced Tg and Tm enable lower temperature processing and potential cost savings 14
