2 Combat insecticide resistance With the support of WHO-TDR and WHO NTD since March 2016 The Worldwide Insecticide resistance Network aims at tracking and combating insecticide resistance in mosquito vectors of arboviruses by: Establishing a global resistance surveillance system for arbovirus vectors, Filling knowledge gaps and identify research priorities on insecticide resistance, Assisting WHO and national authorities in decision-making on insecticide resistance management and deployment of resistancebreaking tools.

3 Pillars of action Foundation WIN positioning within the GVCR GLOBAL VECTOR CONTROL RESPONSE ( ) «Reduce the burden and threat of vector-borne diseases through effective locally adapted sustainable vector control» WIN support the GVCR by putting Insecticide Resistance on the Vector Control agenda. Build/strengthen capacities for vector resistance monitoring & management Conduct/support basic & applied research on vector resistance and resistance breaking tools Develop a global surveillance & warning systems for resistance to guide decisionmaking
