3 Presented by Edward Petrie Edward Petrie has been active in the adhesives industry fr ver 35 years bth in the frmulatin side and the end-use sides f the industry. He has a BS (Chemical Engineering) and MS (Plymer Science) degrees frm Carnegie Melln University and an MBA frmduquesne University. Thrughut his industrial career, Mr. Petrie has been emplyed by tw majr glbal crpratins ABB and Westinghuse as an internal cnsultant in adhesives and plymeric materials. In bth crpratins he was part f the Central Research Labratries and assisted all f the divisins within the rganizatin. His expertise includes material and prcess selectin, testing, frmulating, substrate preparatin, and quality cntrl with emphasis n the end-user applicatin and perfrmance requirements. Applicatins include structural as well as nn-structural jining f all materials. Mr. Petrie is als an expert in jining plymeric materials by all methds including mechanical fastening, self-fastening, and heat and slvent welding. Mr. Petrie has authred ver 100 papers n adhesives as well as the ppular Handbk f Adhesives and Sealants (McGraw-Hill, Octber 2000) and Plastic Materials and Prcesses A Cncise Encyclpedia (Jhn Wiley & Sns, August 2003).
