2 ADMER adhesive resin is a modified polyolefin with functional groups, designed to bond to a variety of polyolefins, ionomers, polyamides, ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH), PET, Polycarbonates, polystyrenes and metals. ADMER serves as a tie-layer in multi-layer structures to combine the excellent properties of different materials, such as gas barrier resins and moisture barrier resins. ADMER adhesive resin is available in pellet form and can be used in a wide variety of coextrusion processes for bottles, tubes, sheets and films. With the appropriate choice of ADMER adhesive resin based on the required adhesion performance, processing conditions and other requirements, we can promise an excellent solution to our customers needs. Mitsui Chemicals Europe GmbH is ready to discuss the opportunities ADMER offers you for your specific needs.

3 Characteristics of ADMER 1. Strong adhesion By thermal reaction ADMER adheres to Polyamide (PA), EVOH, Polystyrene (PS), Polyester (PET, PETG), Polycarbonate (PC), Polyolefins (PP, PE) and metals such as steel and aluminum. 2. Adhesion Durability ADMER and bonded substrate demonstrate excellent durability and thus can be boiled, hot filled and retorted. PO ADMER Barrier ADMER PO Cross-section of Multi-layer Sheet 3. Polyolefin-like properties Since ADMER is based on polyolefins or copolymers, it retains the physical properties of each polyolefin or copolymer including mechanical strength, heat resistance, chemical resistance and recyclability. ADMER 4. Easy Processing ADMER, a thermoplastic, can be processed as easily as any other polyolefin by the following methods: coextrusion blow molding coextrusion coating tube coextrusion powder coating sheet coextrusion metal coating film coextrusion co-injection (cast an blown film) 5. Food Status ADMER complies with following regulations or recommendations: EC directive 2002/72/EC and/or its first amendment 2004/19/EC. Status: 10 th March, CFR (Adhesives) in federal regulations issued by FDA. Status: 1 st April, 2003 Please contact your sales representatives for more information.

5 ADMER is used in numerous applications as an adhesive layer. When coextruded with a gas barrier resin into tubes, bottles, sheets or films, those products will serve as ideal food packaging acting as a barrier against oxygen, flavor, odour and moisture. This type of packaging is used for food, such as meat, cheese, ketchup, mayonnaise, sauces, dairy products and soups. Cosmetics and pharmaceuticals are also suited to these packaging products. Industrial uses of ADMER are composite pipe and coated steel pipe, as well as plastic fuel tanks and containers for chemicals. In addition, coextrusion coating of ADMER with other plastics onto paper or foil offers further opportunities in the food packaging area.
