15 Grey Mould (Botrytis cinere) Life Cycle Disese inoculum survives on multiple pulse hosts i.e. fb ben, lentils nd chickpes. Cn survive on stubble (lentil, chickpe or fb ben), in the soil s scleroti nd cn lso be crried on infected seed. When seed infected by these fungi re sown seedling blight will occur soon fter crop emergence, reducing plnt popultions. Msses of spores re produced on infected plnts then cn spred onto surrounding plnts by wind nd rin splsh to begin new infections. Moisture is essentil for infection. Lentil crops sown erly nd/or t high seeding rtes pper to be the worst ffected by BGM. 15
