Automated cell imaging and confluence measurements It is necessary to normalize results over several wells across a microplate to have confidence in your cell-based assay results. The problem is that you don t know how many cells have adhered to the bottom of the microplate, or even grown, over a certain period of time. It is now possible to automatically measure cell confluence and image cells in the well of a microplate. This allows the system to automatically inject a compound or measure a GFP signal once a user-defined cell confluence is reached, providing more reliable results. The system offers an excellent dynamic range of 1 9 using up to 3 OD attenuation, with 4 user-selectable filters to provide unprecedented freedom for virtually any luminescence measurements, including BRET 1,2,3 and Chroma-Glo. Using a unique filter-based technique, the desired detection wavelength for multi-color luminescence measurements can be selected with only a few mouse clicks. High performance Alpha Technology Alpha Technology comprises AlphaScreen, AphaLISA and AlphaPlex, and is a luminescent bead-based assay technology designed for the measurement of biological interactions. Whether you read enzymatic reactions such as luciferase assays, run temperaturedependent Alpha assays, or study kinetic assays of living organisms, you need precise, controllable cooling. Now, for the first time, Te-Cool lets you keep your assay stable at a specific temperature for long periods. For most readers, the specified minimum temperature inside a plate reader is defined as a few degrees above ambient. This can vary significantly depending on the time of year and location, and so will your results. Temperature gradients can also occur across a microplate with many readers, leading to poor precision and variations in your results. A key benefit of Spark s Te-Cool module is the ability to measure your assay at ambient temperatures, ensuring more stable readings without even needing to know the exact temperature the software takes care of everything, keeping the measurement chamber at ambient temperature.
