4 Hardeners DeuroCure KS for pure melamine resins and UF/MF mixed resins with up to 30 % urea resin content DeuroCure KS is a hardener with pronounced latent properties, is highly efficient, allows a very good resin flow during the laminating process and has an exceptionally long mixed resin pot life. DeuroCure KS is predominantly used in the second resin vat (coater station), or for single stage impregnating with MF-resin. Chloride-free formulation (high protection for pressing plates). Storage stability of the impregnated papers (e.g. décor papers for furniture and flooring overlay) is excellent. Extremely short pressing times can be achieved. DeuroCure KS-N for urea resins and mixed UF/MF resins with up to 30 % melamine resin content DeuroCure KS-N exhibits a higher reactivity than KS, nonetheless it has good latent properties, a long pot life (around 6 h) of the mixed resin and uniform curing. DeuroCure KS-N is predominantly used in the two-stage impregnating process in the first vat (UF resin or mixed UF/MF resin). DeuroCure KS-N is also especially suitable for setting the reactivity for balance papers. Chloride-free formulation (high protection for pressing plates). The storage stability of the impregnated papers is good in spite of the increased reactivity. Extremely short pressing times can be achieved. DeuroCure UH 35 for urea resins DeuroCure UH 35 exhibits a more subdued reactivity than KS-N, is also distinguished by good latent properties, long pot life (around 12 h) of the mixed resin and uniform curing. The hardening agent is predominantly used for the two-stage impregnating process in the first vat (UF resin or mixed UF/MF resins). In comparison with KS-N, UH 35 can be specifically used for dark uni-coloured papers distinguished through pronounced colour intensity. Another chloride-free formulation (high protection for pressing plates). DeuroCure KS-XL for melamine resins DeuroCure KS-XL, has exceptionally distinct latent properties with the advantages of extended pot life of the mixed resin, extended storage stability of the impregnated papers and extended flow of resin in the press. The hardener is eminently suitable for difficult types of paper such as black, red, brown metallic etc. DeuroCure KS-XL is also very suitable for deep structures. It can be used in single or two stage processes. As with all our hardeners DeuroCure KS-XL is chloride free. DeuroCure UH-35-XL for urea resins DeuroCure UH-35 XL is recommended to be used in combination with DeuroCure KS-XL for special applications where great demands on the storage stability of the impregnated papers are made. Compared with DeuroCure UH-35 it has greater latent properties. Advantageous for applications requiring extended resin flow and uniform curing throughout. Chloride free Deurowood Hardeners

5 Wetting agents DeuroWet MA11 / MA10 DeuroWet MA 11 and MA 10 are highly efficient wetting agents with their balanced and specially engineered surfactant formulations (small admix quantities are sufficient; depending on décor paper type 0.2 % to 0.4 %). They are especially designed for the core impregnation in the first impregnating vat. As a result of their formulation they are extremely low foam. They are free of alkyl phenol ethoxylates (APEs). They can also be used in MF resin surface layer and corundum sector. Release agents DeuroLease PHE DeuroLease PHE is a highly-efficient release agent which is normally added to the second impregnating vat or at the coater coating station. The release agent develops an excellent release action in the press section. Typical dosing quantities lie between 0.2 % to 0.5 % as a proportion of liquid resin. Can also be added to a combined wetting/release agent or an anti-dust film-smoothing agent to increase release properties. Deurowood Wetting agents / Release agents 4 5

6 Combined wetting/release agents DeuroComp MA 7 / DeuroComp MA 12 Both products are universally usable combined wetting/release agents distinguished by their differing surfactant chemistry and different quantities of release agent (MA 12 somewhat less and MA 7 somewhat higher). Both additives are highly effective for fast and uniform penetration of the resin in the first impregnating vat (normal décor, uni, metallic, overlay, balance). MA 12 and MA 7 additives are suitable for use in the second impregnating vat or coater roller station (excellent resin flow and excellent release action in short-cycle presses). Both additives are APE free and their formulations are configured for low foam. The use of MA 7 and MA 12 in the second impregnating vat provides an optimal film formation and a smooth and closed film surface. The amount used of these additives typically lies between 0.4 % to 0.6 %. Anti-blocking agents DeuroSlide FA DeuroSlide FA is added to the urea resin or UF/MF resin mixture in the first vat in a quantity of 0.2 % to 0.3 % to prevent migration of the UF resin to the surface of the film. DeuroSlide FA is added to the MF resin in the second vat or raster coating station to prevent sticking tendencies in the stack of paper, in quantities of 0.3 % to 0.5 % (depending on temperature/humidity conditions). DeuroSlide FA is preferred where there are particularly high demands on the transparency and colour intensity of pressed uni-colour films. DeuroSlide CE DeuroSlide CE is an efficient anti-blocking additive based on renewable raw materials and especially environmentally friendly. DeuroSlide CE is used in the first resin vat to prevent migration and in the second impregnation stage as anti-blocking agent for décor, overlay and balance papers. Typical quantities used are 0.3 % to 0.5 % in the second stage and an additional 0.2 % to 0.3 % in the first stage as required. Deurowood Combined wetting/release agents / Anti-blocking agents

7 Anti-dust and film-smoothing agents DeuroCompS GM DeuroCompS GM is a combined additive which is aimed primarily at anti dust and film smoothing; in addition highly-effective release and wetting agent components are part of the overall formulation. DeuroCompS GM is predominantly designed for addition to the MF resin in the second impregnating vat or coater station. The admix quantities normally lie between 0.5 % and 0.8 % as a proportion of the liquid resin; in the case of pigmentation at the coater station, admix quantities are >1 %; should the film surface be too smooth, the admixed quantity can be reduced to around 0.3 % with the reduced release effect being compensated for by the addition of 0.2 % to 0.3 % release agent at the same time. High colour saturation and depth for uni and metallic décors. DeuroCompS GME CP DeuroCompS GME CP is a further development of DeuroCompS GM incorporating the same chemical basis but aimed at even less dust development; release and wetting agent functions are also part of the overall formulation. DeuroCompS GME CP is primarily designed for adding to the MF resin in the second impregnating vat or coater station; the difference to GM lies in the lower admix quantities (around 0.3 %) and resultant cost effectiveness. High colour saturation and depth for uni and metallic décors. DeuroCompS GMS DeuroCompS GMS has a different chemical basis compared to GM and GME CP and is also a combination additive primarily intended for anti-dust and film smoothing. In addition highlyeffective release and wetting agent components are part of the overall formulation. Designed for admixing to MF resins in single stage (e.g. impregnation of balance papers) and dual stage impregnating processes. The admix quantities normally lie between 0.3 % and 0.8 % proportional to liquid MF resin. For dosages below 0.3 % an addition of 0.2 % to 0.3 % release agent DeuroLease PHE is recommended. 8 Anti-dust and film-smoothing agents DeuroCompS GMX DeuroCompS GMX is the latest and most efficient combined additive in the GM family for the growing demands of higher production speeds, higher drier temperatures, higher resin applications, pigmentation, high-gloss products etc. Typical for the whole of the GM family, with DeuroCompS GMX no additional components such as wetting, release or film-smoothing agents, are necessary. Even at high speeds and drying temperatures, a dust-free surface of the impregnated papers as well as a foam-free resin coater are assured. Depending on working conditions a dosage of 0.3 % to 0.5 % is sufficient even where expectations are high. Where dosages are below 0.3 % an admix of our release agent DeuroLease PHE and our wetting agent DeuroWet MA11 is recommended. As with all products of the GM family, high colour saturation and depth are provided for all types of paper. DeuroChem AD DeuroChem AD is a highly concentrated and pure anti-dust/film-smoothing additive for individual applications. Depending on where it is used it is capable of being combined with our release agent DeuroLease PHE, wetting agent DeuroWet MA11 or any other of our additives. Typical admix quantities are 0.1 % to 0.3 %. Release agents for phenolic resins DeuroCompS TPA DeuroCompS TPA is a release agent developed to meet the special requirements of phenolic resins for easy release of pressing plates. It can however be used for standard melamine and urea resins. A typical area of application is the impregnation of overlay for the form-liner industry, PSF (phenol surface film). Depending on the application concerned dosages of 0.2 % to 1.5 % are necessary. For improved wetting and uniform distribution, a combination with approx. 0.5 % DeuroWet MA 11 is recommended. 9 Modifiers DeuroMod HF DeuroMod HF is a qualitative high-ranking modifier and plasticizer chiefly for MF resins. As a result of the special preparation the chemical and mechanical surface properties of melamine resins are not affected. For that reason it is especially suitable for surface use e.g. overlay etc. Depending on requirements an admix of 1 % to 5 % is recommended. As well as extending the resin flow when laminating, DeuroMod HF also improves the flexibility of the impregnated paper for easier rolling and handling (see continuous lamination presses). DeuroMod HF proffers itself for pressing deeper structures (LPL; excellent resin flow) and for heavily corundum-treated flooring systems (e.g. AC4, transparency) as well. DeuroMod PM DeuroMod PM is manufactured in an technically effortful similar to that of DeuroMod HF and is specialized for resin flow extension during the laminating process. In combination with our XL hardeners (DeuroCure KS-XL, DeuroCure UH35-XL) lengthening of the storage stability of impregnated papers is achieved. With DeuroMod PM a basic plasticizing of non-plasticized MF and UF resins is achieved as well as a correspondingly high molar ratio for MF resins. DeuroMod PM is typically admixed to the first resin vat and in the coater station with 1 % to 5 %. DeuroMod THP DeuroMod THP is a modifier and plasticizer chiefly for MF resins, but can however be used for a basis plasticization of UF resins in the first impregnating vat. DeuroMod THP results in an increase in flow properties and reduction in susceptibility to cracking and porosity. The admix quantity for a non-plasticization of pre-modified resins is 0.5 % to 1.5 %, for the use of unmodified MF resins for HPLs 1 % to 3 % and for the use of unmodified MF resins for LPLs 3 % to 6 %. 10 Anti-foaming agents DeuroPlane AF 4060 Is perfectly compatible with all impregnation resins (UF, MF); Extremely well suited for combating fine-pored stable foam. Strongly suppresses the formation of creamy foam due to high pump performance. High-gloss additive for short-cycle pressing DeuroGloss DeuroGloss is an additive for achieving gloss grades in the region of (60 C) for laminate surfaces from a short-cycle pressing process without re-cooling. DeuroGloss is admixed in the second impregnating vat or coater station with 3 % in proportion to liquid MF resin. Special reactivity settings in the first and second impregnating vats are to be observed. In addition, the setting of a special residual moisture content is important. White pigment dispersions DeuroWhite M65 DeuroWhite M65 is a water-based pigment dispersion for colouring MF or UF resin floats white and for increasing opacity. The pigment dispersion is based on titanium oxide; agglomeration of the titanium oxide particles is greatly reduced by a special stabilizer. A typical dosage is 1 % to 6 %. The addition is recommended to be carried out preferably on the coater station (MF resin); however in principle an addition is also possible in the first impregnating vat (UF resin). When storing for longer periods of time signs of sedimentation can occur; in such cases homogenization is possible with gentle stirring. 11 Additive for improving micro-scratch resistance to EN DeuroGuard NS DeuroGuard NS is a revolutionary surface protection for melamine surfaces against micro scratches, which can be caused e.g. by scouring or cleaning. DeuroGuard NS is applied as the last coating on the surface and should not be mixed with the MF resin. Due to its silicate basis DeuroGuard NS does not cause any wear to equipment, in particular pressing plates, contrary to conventional materials. PLEASE CONTACT US FOR FURTHER DETAILS. DeuroGuard PL DeuroGuard PL, is a special and elaborately produced corundum with unique properties size, size distribution, aspect ratio, etc.) and excellent transparency. Due to its special properties there is significantly less wear of structural plates in comparison to standard micro corundum. Also available as a slurry for easy dosage by pump. Release agents for MDF and OSB particle board production DeuroLease B DeuroLease B is predominantly an external release agent for spraying onto pressing plates, belts and the particle mat when manufacturing particle and MDF boards. DeuroLease B can also be used as an internal release agent for adding to the resin float. Prevention of build-up on the plates and sticking of the plates, lower sanding expenditure and reduced pressing times through utilization of steam jet effect. As well as the release effect, an extremely good wetting of resin on the particles is provided; this promotes good resin distribution and a closed surface of the board. Typically 1 % to 5 % dilutions are made up; per mm board thickness and per m 2 of board surface 1g (1ml) of the dilution is sprayed on. DeuroLease TW DeuroLease TW as external release agent in OSB manufacturing for preventing build-up on plates and adhesion of the particle mat to the steel belts of the continuous roll presses. Extremely low propensity to foam due to selected classes of surfactants. Recommended for use in the production of PMDI (Phenyl-Methane-Di-Isocyanate) resin based OSBs by spraying onto the particle mat and/or steel belts. Normally dilutions with water of 1:8 or 1:10 are possible depending on board thickness. As well as the release effect, an extremely good wetting of resin on the particles is provided; this promotes good resin distribution and a closed surface of the board.
