Agenda Students' Mindsets and Careers Biomedical Engineering Biomedical Engineering Careers in Egypt Non-Biomedical Careers in Egypt Courses

Students' Mindsets Students are not equal Students have different mentalities and different ways of thinking We should expect huge differences in the mindset of students at our department

The Mathematician A very special mindset Can work out theoretical problems Loves to study just for the sake of studying Needs no motivation - Self-motivated

Medical Mindset This student loves to study medical sciences Physiology, anatomy, chemistry, etc... This is a dominant mindset in our department

Management Mindset Talented students who have a wide range of soft skills They usually find the engineering courses as dull, useless, and boring! We wrongly judge them as bad students In practical life, they are very successful people

Mechanical Mindset Some students have special passion for mechanical systems They love the innovation and creativity in the design of mechanical systems and mechanisms

Electromagnetic Engineers Some students are fond of vector calculus, physics, electric fields, etc... They are typically oriented towards bioelectromagnetism

Signal Processing and Control Lying at the Systems part of our department Many students love the topics of system theory, signals, processing algorithms, stability, control, etc... People with this mindset are not mathematicians They are at the engineering side of it

Algorithmic Mindset Those people are fond of algorithmic design, data structures, and programming They love to give instructions on how things should be done They share a lot of aspects with the mathematician mindset

Software Development Mindset Some students prefer to stay on the keyboard, coding... They love creating virtual systems, and to develop working applications They lie at the engineering aspect of the software development They are NOT fond of algorithms, complexity, etc...

Hardware Interfacing Mindset Students who love to program real stuff and see them working They prefer to program robots than computers They write software, just to make the hardware dance!

Hardware Design Mindset Few students find themselves in love with the black-magic of hardware They can design circuits, prototype boards, and make some hardware fun They are often hardworkers who have the patience and passion to work on HW

Engineering Careers Academic Focused on the Research side B.Sc., M.Sc., PhD, Post-doctoral Prototyping ideas, publishing papers in journals/conferences Industrial Focused on the Development side B.Sc is obligatory, M.Sc. and PhD are optional! Development of real-life products Sales/Marketing Managerial (e.g. Clinical Engineering)

Agenda Students' Mindsets and Careers Biomedical Engineering Biomedical Engineering Careers in Egypt Non-Biomedical Careers in Egypt Courses

Biomedical Engineering Now the question is Is there anybody who is unwelcome?? The amazing fact is that Biomedical Engineering needs and welcomes all those mindsets... without any exception!
