Teamed up with scientists at USCD and Sanford Burnham to develop nanotherapeutics to deliver sirna to the circulating monocytes for traumatic brain injury and resulted into renewal of DARPA grant and a manuscript (under preparation) Worked with scientists at the Broad Institute to improve specificity of CRISPR editing and deliver CRISPR components resulted into multiple manuscripts (under preparation). Collaborated with scientists at the Koch Institute to deliver and activate sirna and CRISPR/Cas9 using microneedles for transdermal applications and the project resulted into a manuscript (under preparation). Directly mentored 4 students including 3 undergraduate students and a summer intern for CRISPR projects. Friedman lab Developed light activated RNA interference with lab members for targeting cancer resulted into several high impact publications, featured on the cover, a patent disclosure, several awards and NSF grant. Led a team to develop photoactivatable insulin depot for the treatment of diabetes and it resulted into two high impact publications, featured on the frontispiece, awards, a patent, media coverage and NIH DP3 grant. Developed chemical labels for site specific labeling of nucleic acids and led to a manuscript (under review). Trained and mentored 2 graduate students for various lab techniques for RNAi and insulin projects. Guest Instructor Fall 2009 Lectured Medicinal Chemistry-I four review classes for Pharm D. students as a part of the Preparing Future Faculty fellowship and received excellent feedback and ratings. Graduate Teaching Assistant Served as teaching assistant for Medicinal Chemistry-I & II courses for Pharm D. students.
