1 Chinese Pharmaceutical Association CPA[2012]No Chinese Pharmaceutical Conference The 1 st Round Conference Announcement Nanotechnology is a cutting edge technology with strategic importance in the field of pharmaceutical science, especially for the development of novel drug delivery systems for the 21st century. Nanoparticle drug carriers have demonstrated a unique array of applications in both diagnostic and therapeutic medicine. Nanoparticle based drug delivery systems provide new insight and tools for the study of modern drug delivery systems. Fundamental understanding of the chemistry and engineering of nanomaterials and nanoparticles and relation to their in vitro/in vivo performance along with manufacturing and toxicity considerations is critical to their wider acceptance and applications in drug and device development. The unique physicochemical properties of materials on the nanoscale introduce certain challenges into most aspects of pharmaceutical R&D. Despite the impressive progress made in the past decades, the application of nanoparticle drug delivery systems still remains in its infancy worldwide, with many problems yet to be addressed and resolved within the complex area of medicine. Global collaboration of pharmaceutical scientists in this field will inspire the generation of new knowledge and accelerate the research and application of new nanoparticle delivery systems. In order to facilitate information exchange in the field of nanoparticle based drug delivery systems, the Chinese Pharmaceutical Association (CPA) will host 2012 Chinese Pharmaceutical Conference with a main theme The Application of Nanotechnology in Drug Delivery in Chengdu, Sichuan Province from 20th 21st September This conference will provide an ideal platform for both institutions and individuals to present their talents and expertise, whilst also promoting international collaborations and communications within the pharmaceutical research field, with an aim to accelerate the development of nanoparticle based drug delivery systems. This conference consists of the Annual Meeting of CRS China Chapter, the 4th Asian Pharmaceutical Technologies Arden Conference & Annual Meeting of Pharmaceutics Committee of CPA).

Abstracts must be typed in English. 2. Use a 12 point Arial font with single line spacing. 3. Use the Symbol font for Greek and scientific symbols that don't display in Arial. 4. Abstracts related to studies must contain the aims of the study, methods, results and conclusion. 5. Abstracts may include simple tables or figures. 6. Abbreviations should be used only for common terms (for uncommon terms, the abbreviation should be given in brackets after the first full use of the word). 7. Abstracts must not exceed 800 words, excluding title, authors and institution.

4 8. References should be used sparingly. All abstracts must be submitted electronically. The submitted abstracts will undergo a rigorous review process managed by the committee. Those of high level will be selected for being either orally presented on the last day of the symposium or presented as posters. The proceedings are planned to be published and will be distributed at the symposium.
