2 Research Details Post Doctorate researcher (Sep Aug. 2013). Project topic of post-doc Research, Screening of clinical and environmental isolates of Enterobacteriaceae for class A (CTX-M, TEM, SHV) and class C (AmpC) β-lactamases, and NDMmetallo-beta-lactamases: exploring the load, reservoir, and genetic environment Find out the prevalence (and thus assessing the load) of bla CTX-M, bla ampc, and bla NDM-1 type genes in Indian bacterial population obtained from our hospitals. Find out the prevalence (and thus assessing the load) of bla CTX-M, bla ampc, and bla NDM-1 type genes in Indian bacterial population obtained from the environmental samples. Perform the epidemiological typing of the isolates so as to define any clonal relation or diversity. Perform sequencing of the CTX-M, AmpC, and NDM-1 genes in order to report any new gene or to detect the mutations in the existing genes. Doctorate researcher (Dec April 2012). Thesis topic of Ph.D. Graduation in Medical Microbiology, Occurrence, prevalence and genetic environment of Enterobacteriaceae with special reference to AmpC β-lactamases. Determine antibiotic resistance rates and patterns in cephamycin-resistant clinical E. coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates from J. N. Medical College and Hospital, Aligarh, India. Screen the isolates for the presence of bla ampc genes and their characterization for the presence of respective AmpC-family. Analyze co-resistance of class A β-lactamase genes, especially the bla CTX-M. Explore plasmid and genetic elements [ISEcp1, IS26, ISCR1 (ORF513), Sul-1-type integron] responsible for mobilization of drug resistance genes in our isolates Honorary Research fellowship (Oct to Aug. 2008). Learned the molecular-biology techniques including PCR, Agarose gel Electrophoresis and plasmid DNA isolation. Rafi Ahmad Kidwai Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, Master s researcher (Aug to Sep. 2007). Dissertation topic of M.Sc. graduation in Microbiology, Plant growth promoting and bioremediation potential of rhizospheric bacteria isolated from metal contaminated soil ook Chapters: Published Research Articles in International Journals 1.
