1 Description of Asset Management Support Tool The Moving Ahead for Progress in the Act (MAP-21) develop rules to establish a system to monitor and manage public transportation assets to improve safety, increase reliability and performance, and to establish performance measures. The benefits from enhanced asset management practices include improved safety and reliability, reduced costs, improved performance, better customer service, and optimized resource allocation. CodeRed Business Solutions can provide the expertise in developing an Transit Asset Management Plan (TAMP), asset inventories, condition assessments and modifying existing maintenance management systems asset hierarchies to better report your agency s state of good repair for the National Transit Database (NTD) as well as the FTA s MAP-21 requirements. To assists organizations in meeting the new FTA requirements for Transit Asset Management Plans CodeRed Business Solutions Inc. has developed the Asset Management Support Tool. CRBS development of this tool was driven by our own search to find tools to assist our data collection efforts during the Transit Asset Inventory Development and Integration, Asset Management Methodology/Condition Assessment, FTA Research Report 023. (Summary Complete Document After our own extensive search we realized that no tool existed to meet the specific requirements of MAP-21 and National Transit Database (NTD) reporting. Therefore, CRBS created a tool to meet this unique requirement. The Asset Management Support Tool developed by CodeRed Business Solutions Inc. is a time saving stand-alone web-based tool created to capture asset information effectively at the asset s physical location. This provides a realtime capability to capture information as well as Geo-Information System (GIS) location of where the inspection is taking place. The Asset Management Support Tool is explained below: Figure-1 shows the TAM Plan elements that are required by each transit organization. Since Tier II providers generally operate less complex systems, their TAM Plan requirements are not as extensive.

4 After data collection, information can be exported to any relational database, excel spreadsheet, PDF or any format required by the customer. The following existing reports that generated from the Asset Management Support Tool, that CRBS will uses to collect the data. Customized reports can be created by customer s requirements. Figure-5 shown below is an example of report generated by the Asset Management Support Tool (AMST). This report provides the user with the asset name, location, condition, and replacement cost, which are critical data elements required by MAP-21. Figure-5 Example output from the AMST
