5 WHEN AND WHERE INSTITUTIONAL BACKGROUND 1999 TO FOCUS ON EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING PORTO DIGITAL PROGRAMME FOCUS ON INNOVATION AND KNOWLEDGE Porto Digital, non-profit association, responsible for the development of a variety of projects that contribute to the development of an information and knowledge society accessible to all citizens

6 WHEN AND WHERE PORTO DIGITAL PROGRAMME ( ) Porto Digital Program was an initiative that brought together several goals for the region of Porto, in the areas of a) education, by creating new infrastructures that promote the widespread use of the information and communication technologies; b) employment, by increasing the competitiveness of the region and creating favorable conditions for attract new investments; c) burocracie, by reducing the inefficiencies and distance between citizens and the Administration; d) quality of life, by giving a new quality to urban life for residents, workers and visitors.

7 WHEN AND WHERE CDM PORTO OPENS TO PUBLIC IN OCTOBER 30 OF 2006 A project based on public-private partnership, having the City Council, the Porto University, the Portuguese Association of Enterprises and Metro do Porto as main sponsors TO EMPOWER CITIZENS IN THE LABOUR MARKET INTEGRATION AND IN THE PROCESS OF ADAPTING TO CHANGE TO EMPOWER CITIZENS TO BE ACTIVE AGENTS OF PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TO IMPROVE ACCESSIBILITY TO TIMELY AND QUALITY INFORMATION ABOUT EMPLOYABILITY AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP TO PROMOTE ENTREPRENEURIAL CULTURE AMONG YOUTH
