6 Objectives of ITS For MBMC To increase revenue collection by using modern Automated Fare Collection System(AFCS) To Provide real time bus movement information to commuters through Passenger Information System(PIS) Improve efficiency of bus operations and decrease operational costs for the department To Automate data compilation & Report generation to build a reliable Management Information System(MIS) To Manage bus operations using real time analytical reports To Provide complete visibility for trip planning and real-time updated bus status To Provide commuters with a reliable, convenient and cost effective mode of travel

Real Time Location Information Digital Map to tell individuals where the buses are; at present. Transit Vehicle Arrival Real time information on when the next Bus will arrive at a stop or station. Mapping & Guidance Information about nearby parking, public transportation stops/stations and destinations. Journey Planning Optimize travel planning to minimize time and transportation cost based criteria seleted

Provide comparative operational progress over a specific period as configured from the system Management Perspective Revenue earned Per Bus Per Route By Conductor Passenger Profiling Senior management Dashboard Duty/ Depot management Scheduling Revenue Snapshots The Revenue snapshot service would be able to provide the revenue collection statistics from Fare box in a single view. 10 ITS Service planned : Operation Manager services Location Bases Services The location based services enable the operation team to locate the vehicle at any point of time over the overlay map to ascertain the movement of buses. Revenue Snapshots The revenue based services helps to track the financial performance of the buses and the crews and take adequate steps for better management of route, counseling of crew etc. for better revenue generations. Operational Performance Services Provides the detailed operational statistics like out-shedding of vehicles, transit time between specific time periods, vehicle and crew history etc. to optimize the operational performance of the services. Operations Manager Perspective Is any of the bus over-speeding? Has there been any accident? Are all the buses operating as per schedule? Are there any breakdowns? What is revenue collection status? Are ETM s online? Where are the buses?? Have any of the buses missed any schedule/ stops? Communication Services Communication services like in-vehicle communication of crew with central monitoring station helps to provide electronic as well as voice based alerts. Facilities Planned Mobile App & Journey planner on Web, with Real-time location and ETA Information PIS boards at Bus Stands Announcement Inside Buses for next stop. Automated Ticketing using ETM/ Mobile Device Mobile ticketing / Bank Cards Control Centre with real-time monitoring of vehicles, ticketing, depot etc.
