1 PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Bruce Hawthorne Experience Summary Mr. Hawthorne is a senior level management consultant and educator in the information management field. Mr. Hawthorne is President of Hawthorne Associates, a management consulting firm specializing in the areas of IS strategic planning, ERP implementation and IT management. Prior to establishing the consulting practice in 1993, he was a senior member of the IS management team at Merck & Co., Inc. He has been an adjunct professor of MIS within the Master of Science in Information Systems programs at both Stevens Institute of Technology and Kean University. Supreme Court Information Systems Task Force - performed an assessment of the Court's I/S management, information systems and technology. Union County New Jersey Technology Task Force - developed strategic plan for upgrading computer and information systems. Merck & Co., Inc to 1993 Mr. Hawthorne spent almost 17 years at Merck within the information systems function as a senior executive. He initially was recruited by Merck to direct their expanding international computer activities involving both application development and computer operations at the local country level. This was followed by assignments in planning, telecommunications and office automation. Later, Mr. Hawthorne was responsible for the development of business systems at the corporate level followed by an assignment to direct Merck s global computer and network operations. His last assignment at Merck was as the senior IS executive responsible for managing Merck s global IS resources. Exxon Corporation 1966 to 1976 Mr. Hawthorne initial experience at Exxon was within a systems development group at corporate. He spent the first five years developing and supporting business systems in the areas of research job cost accounting, fixed asset accounting, marketing investments, and research information management. This was followed by over five years of business experience with the international area with assignments in facilities planning, information systems management and sales.
