They operate in almost 80 countries in two main segments: Drilling and evaluation Completion and Production Through these segments, they offer a variety of products and services to the upstream oil and gas customers around the world, from the integrated software and services to the technology related to the drilling tools, logging and perforation, from the production of drill bits and other well holes and completion tools to pressure pumping services. Halliburton s vision is to be the preferred upstream service provider for the development of global oil and gas resources. Halliburton provides its services to nearly all major oil and gas producers in the world in various environmental conditions, on and off shore. Collaboration, sharing and visualization of real time data is critical for their real time operations and a critical factor in their real time decision making processes. Halliburton provides its services to nearly all of major oil and gas producers in the world TECHNICAL SITUATION When the relationship between Halliburton and Epsis started in 2010 Halliburton had two main challenges they wanted to address. The first challenge was a hardware related problem using six projectors, back-projected to use as a video wall. The results of the configuration were not meeting Halliburton s expectations. The solution was very limited due to low flexibility and low utilization of the combined pixel area. The video wall was set up with a traditional touch panel and matrix which gave them no possibilities to populate the whole wall with the required information regardless of where it was coming from. The use of AV hardware to address this challenge was seen as too expensive and Epsis TeamBox Software was chosen as the new hardware control unit. The second challenge Halliburton had was tied to information orchestration. Regardless of what type of information, Halliburton wanted to be able to create composite content workspaces (applications, CCTV, Video Conference, documents, Laptops etc.) and execute the workspaces by the click of one button. SOLUTION Halliburton s Norwegian based headquarters in Stavanger has developed, tested and qualified a collaboration solution which consists of a standard Windows 7 based PC configured with Epsis TeamBox software, displays screens, cabling, keyboard, mouse, Cisco video codec and camera including setup-configurations and installation guides making the collaboration environment easy to install.
