3 Communication-capable components The basis for fully networked production facilities Energy monitoring Our energy monitoring devices can do far more than just measure the consumption of electrical energy. They also determine the electrical parameters of your machines, for example, and allow for a differentiated analysis of the individual currents in the connectors. This provides you with a quick overview of the state of the electrical energy in your production facility with regard to efficient use as well as network quality, stability and availability. Direct communication between different machines as well as between machines and IT systems is essential for exploiting the potential of Industry 4.0. The basis for this are communication-capable components that can record product and status data as well as machineinternal measured values and energy parameters. Feeding this data into the cloud allows it to be analysed and the resulting conclusions shared with all relevant network participants. This enables system operators to set up new services to optimise and diagnose their production processes or for energy management. Communication-capable signal converter ACT20C Our ACT20C signal converter not only monitors signal conversion, but also communicates accurate information on device status, signals and data directly to connected computer and control systems. The Ethernet interface allows the event-driven transfer of diagnostics information, which for example supports rapid elimination of faults in plant operation. Communication-capable power supply PROtop With the objective of integrating all devices as quickly as possible and transferring data very simply to the cloud, we have upgraded our PROtop high-end power supply to meet tomorrow s requirements. By retrofitting the communication module, you can conveniently create an interface to transfer process data to the higher-level control system and thereby lay the foundation for process optimisation through condition monitoring and remote control. With u-mation, the automation solution toolbox Safety-related networking You can use our industrial security routers and IoT gateways to ensure secure channels of communication within the factory and in the cloud. With u-link, the web-based remote maintenance solution, you can design your individual cloud services via a secure VPN connection, thus increasing machine availability. It will enable you to master and to implement advanced technologies quickly and securely. Maximum flexibility Our high-performance controller u-control 2000 is at the core of the u-mation family. The web-based engineering tool u-create web is pre-installed on the high-end-hardware. The modular I/O system u-remote with fieldbus couplers acts as the interface between u-control and the field level for the most commonly used bus and communication systems. With safety modules, it provides a discrete solution without expensive safety controls. u-view multi-touch panels complete the automation solution tool kit. Find out more: Web-based engineering u-create web, the engineering tool integrated into u-control 2000, allows machines to be accessed from anywhere, using any device, irrespective of the operating system. The key to this new level of independence lies in moving the software from the PC to the controller and the use of open web technologies. With HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript, all facilities can be monitored and programmed irrespective of operating systems. The only requirement is an HTML5-compliant browser. Platform-independent system programming u-create web uses the globally applicable programming standard IEC , so structures and commands are known and can be applied directly. This means the browser simultaneously becomes a development platform. Expanding functionality with industrial software apps enables you to download individual requirements for example visualisation as an additional software per app to the IoT controller. 6 7
