2 This book takes a concentrated look at the very latest best practices for Office 365 migration, with a focus on the needs of senior managers, IT managers, and others involved in key decisions when moving their business to the cloud.based on popular chapters in his first book, Office 365: Migrating and Managing Your Business in the Cloud (Apress Open, co-authored with Don Crawford), author Matt Katzer revises and expands on his original material to bring you the latest guidance on planning methods, management best practices, personnel decisions, and migration and maintenance costs, along with brand new material on some of the most important and cutting-edge considerations when moving your business to the cloud: securing company data, and driving collaboration in the workplace.topics covered include:the Office 365 cloud security model and best practices to apply when securing your business in the cloudmicrosoft Office 365 operation and usage options for any size enterpriseproven methods for planning and minimizing disruptiona step-by-step migration planhow to improve employee collaboration and productivity through use of Office 365â s collaborative apps, including Excel, Outlook Web Access, OneDrive, and Skype for BusinessOffice 365 site management advice for IT administrators and business ownersmoving to Office 365 provides practical and planning guidance for business owners, and CIO/CTOs and IT managers who have responsibility for the IT needs of their business. 3 step details to migrate an existing Exchange server to the cloud. This book has directions to migrate as a cutover or hybrid approach. The cut-over is very complete, but for the hybrid approach, there is much to be desired in explanation, and several steps are abbreviated which I thought would be spelled out much more clearly. With this book I was able to set up a test domain and use the federated migration to move to the cloud, but there was a lot of guesswork and I ran into some issues and had to look elsewhere to figure out the problems. For someone who is looking to do a straight cutover, this book is for you. For a federated migration, I would look elsewhere. I have just completed a migration to Office 365. I bought the book to help me with it and pretty much followed it all the way to make sure that I didnã Â Â t make any mistakes. The only problem I had was in one area where I didnã Â Â t quite follow the bookã Â Â s advice. As soon as I realized that I had a problem, I decided to get back on track and stick to the bookã Â Â s best practices through to the end of the migration. The step-by-step approach was very helpful to me, and my migration was successful. Because of this, I am now recommending this book to my colleagues. As usual, Matt makes the complex understandable.his first book convinced me to move to Office 365. This one makes all the changes in the products and how to access them visible...even for a non-techie like me. It is a real keeper. I learned a lot from this book. Katzer discusses the concept of security and why Office 365 is the best solution when moving a business to the new technology tool, cloud computing. Applicable to any size business, he details how businesses can avoid creating a shadow cloud and why a secure tool is a necessity for modern business in big data. This is a practical guide for deployment, with an eye on costs minimization and benefit maximization. Great follow-up to Katzer's first book! This book covers all you need to know about an Office 365 migration and will be a great ongoing reference. Not only does it provide step by step instructions (and options, where applicable) for migrating , but it does a great job of highlighting all of the features within Office 365 and how to configure them. I particularly appreciated all the Power Shell examples provided for administration. I purchased this book as I was installing Office 365 for a Home/Small Business environment as I wanted to share calendars and other data. However, this book is solely for a large business environment with an Exchange server. Therefore, it is not for my situation. This is not well explained

4 in the description or the reviews I read. It seems excellent though for a large business environment. We are beginning to move several clients off of an on premise Exchange to Office 365. Matt's book is a great guide for deployment and managing our Office365 installation. Many tips I did not know about, and excellent screen shots and step by step instructions. I would recommend for any Office365 user and tech staff. I found it difficult reading. It did not appear to have a stucture that made sense to me. I doubt I will finish the book.
