9 Objectives Prepare daily and monthly reports on production and transport performance indicators Strategic Water Inventory Management. Projected production management of production units, private sector companies and the needs of the directorates and the National Water Company Planning scheduled and emergency maintenance and shutdowns Integrated coordination between all producers, beneficiaries, supporting and transport systems Economic operation of production units and transport systems 9

10 Overview of Initiative The Dispatch Center is built based on a Business Code Objective to centralize and Optimize real-time information of SWCC dispersed resource base Dashboard, Displays and KPI s built to quantify this ambition Focuses on ability to: Browse the Past, Visualize Present and Plan for Future Focus on Cost, Risk, Performance, and Water Quality Future-proof building the foundation agnostic to support evolution of the Water landscape Total Project Duration: 6 Months 10

11 Leveraging PI to Monitor SWCC Water Production and Transmission Facilities COMPANY and GOAL SWCC aspires to be a world pioneer in seawater desalination; for this purpose, the dispatch center is aimed at supporting this vision by a central, optimized water network management and monitoring Company Logo Picture / Image CHALLENGE Most of the SWCC Water Transmission and Production Facilities information are scattered in different formats and geographically dispersed KSA Implementation Challenges: Sites Infrastructure Installation and Integration with different systems Tag Data Mapping from multiple plants Design and Confirmation of more than 400 PI Vision Business screens from scratch for Plants and Transmission SOLUTION Reconciliation of SWCC information systems through establishing an integrated Water Management System (WMS); PI of OSIsoft constitutes the corner stone, together with Esri GIS Platform and further deployment of IT/OT applications The use of OSIsoft for data acquisition from the production plants and as Historian for performance review and for regular reporting PI was also found to be very useful for exchange of data and interfacing with applications such as the ESRI GIS, Hydraulic Modelling and others Main Solutions Implemented by Khatib & Alami: PI Vision, CDI, PI Integrator for esri ArcGIS, Data Manager and scheduler (Poyry) RESULTS The SWCC WMS is the prime player in the Water Business to enable the Company to monitor the real-time operation, plan and instruct the scheduling of production/transmission in the near future and review the performance of the past operation Real Time Operation: Deal with emergencies declared by plant operator to shift production where necessary or instruct compensation from storage. Reduce time for Decision Making Operational Planning: Coordinate the demand and supply to ensure safe, secure and economic satisfaction of the customer. Improve efficiency in Operations Performance Review: Post-event analysis of what happened on the day
