Our Story established in 2001, swinton Technology is an independent supplier of metering computer systems, with our head office based in the United Kingdom. Many of our staff are former Spectra-Tek employees. A global leader in flow computing during the 1980 s and 1990 s, Spectra-Tek were responsible for the development of several widely adopted flow computers, including the 869M Quantum and the Sentinel500. The core of our staff became part of Daniels metering following their takeover of Spectra-Tek in 1997, and subsequently part of Emerson (UK) metering following their takover of Daniels in Given our extended history, several Swinton Technology staff have played key roles in the development of legacy flow computers and their associated metering softwares. Perhaps most notably this includes key roles in developing the popular S600 flow computer. In 2001, Swinton Technology was formed to become a specialist supplier of metering computer systems. By this time the majority of our staff had over 10 years of industry experience, and we were able to carry on servicing major operators with high quality systems from day one. Since our initial incorporation we have grown significantly. In 2009 we moved to a purpose built facility in Malton, North Yorkshire (shown opposite). We have also expanded internationally, with offices in Malaysia to service the Asia Pacific region and in Dubai to service all Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. Swinton Technology counts a large number of major operators amongst our clients, including BP, Shell, Total, Saudi Aramco, Talisman Energy, Total, Statoil, Petronas, ConocoPhillips, Maersk Oil and Centrica, to name a select few. We continue to develop innovative metering solutions for the oil and gas industry and an overview of our latest developments is provided in this brochure. our story 3

TruST TrusT is a custom built Metering supervisory computer offered exclusively by swinton Technology. features supported by TrusT include: Integration with all major flow computer types Customised metering displays, alarms and reports Independent stream and station totalisation Supervisory flow and time weighted averages Prover, sampler and batch sequencing applications Automated stream switching or flow balancing Fully integrated Prognosis DP meter diagnostics Embedded GCAS tools, including status indication A precise virtual flow computing solution Typically supplied for oil and gas flow measurement applications, TruST has a proven global install base and excels in providing an intuitive metering focal point for engineers, operators and technicians. Designed for Metering TruST automatically generates communication links with most industry leading flow computers and builds its owns comprehensive metering station database. This reduces the time needed to implement our systems, but more importantly ensures that data reported at the flow computer is replicated exactly at the supervisory level. Unlike generic SCADA based packages TruST is designed specifically for the management of flow measurement systems. Once a station database is established the operator interface is tailored to provide optimum efficiency and functionality to the user, with mimics and displays developed to suit the metering system architecture. saudi aramco approved We are pleased to announce that TruST has been approved by Saudi Aramco for use on their royalty and custody transfer metering systems. This represents a strong endorsement, as TruST is one of only a few Metering Supervisory Computer systems to receive this recognition. trust 13

MeterSuite Metersuite is a composite of advanced firmware and experience led application engineering, integrated within a sustainable and proven industrial control platform Honeywell s experion Process Knowledge system (PKs). The building blocks that make up a standard Honeywell Experion Control System are utilised to provide the fiscal and allocation metering functions traditionally implemented in flow computer devices. This means metering data is embedded within the DCS system, rather than being held in bespoke flow computers, Metering Supervisory or SCADA systems. MeterSuite combines the best of two worlds. From Honeywell: the advanced technology, features and support you would expect from a leading DCS supplier. From Swinton Technology: the leading force in metering control systems, with a large pool of engineers that have worked with oil and gas metering applications for over 20 years. Key features Product Lifecycle Offers much improved product longevity vs. standalone flow computing packages. MeterSuite forms part of the site DCS migration strategy, further extending the systems life. Reduced Footprint MeterSuite utilises unique C300 controllers (pictured left), alongside dedicated I/O modules to gather data from field devices. This architecture offers a much reduced hardware footprint compared to traditional flow computing arrangements. Scalable Solution MeterSuite offers a high density I/O capacity, allowing between 30 and 40 metering streams per C300 Controller. For larger systems additional controllers can be incorporated. Seamless Integration Avoids additional integration costs between the DCS system and other bespoke metering supervisory packages. Cost Effective Operating on the Experion software platform, MeterSuite can provide additional cost savings through reduced spares holding, reduced training requirements and reduced maintenance activities User Friendly Operates on the Common Experion CEE platform. Customers have the flexibility to modify displays and reports to adapt to the changing site requirements. Combined Support MeterSuite can be easily added to existing support packages, enabling full system support under a single maintenance contract. metersuite 15

Prognosis Prognosis is a condition based Monitoring (cbm) software for all types of differential pressure meters. offered in partnership with DP Diagnostics llc, Prognosis uses patented techniques to validate the DP performance in real-time, ensuring that accurate measurement is being achieved to the necessary industry standard. By installing Prognosis operators are able to adopt a risk based maintenance strategy, saving both time and costs associated with performing needless schedule based inspections. Prognosis has already been adopted by major oil and gas operators around the world, for use on their fiscal and non-fiscal meters, both onshore and offshore. Prognosis is available as a fully integrated feature of our TruST metering supervisory computer. How Does it Work? The essential component of any DP meter is the primary element that constricts the pipe and causes a drop in fluid pressure. The DP transmitter measures this drop in pressure to predict the rate of flow through the meter. The diagram below shows a pipe section with the primary element (in this case a Venturi meter), 2 pressure tappings and the traditional meter DP (DPt). Using a third tapping down stream of the meter body (P3), two further differential pressures can be measured; DPr and DPppl. By comparing the three DPs in multiple ways, Prognosis produces 4 pairs of normalised results which are plotted as 4 points on a simple live graphical display. Points inside the box show that the meter is performing correctly, where as points outside of the box indicate a problem and Prognosis raises an alarm. The system will suggest probable causes for alarms based on the pattern of results. Douglas Griffin Oil and Gas Authority (OGA) prognosis 17

GCAS swinton Technology has partnered with i-vigilant Technologies to provide Gcas ; a comprehensive condition based Monitoring (cbm) software application including unique live uncertainty, designed to report on the health and accuracy of gas chromatographs. adopting Gcas allows operators to implement a risk based maintenance approach, reducing their operating costs as a result. What are The benefits? GCAS automatically captures routine calibration data and live composition analysis. This data is analysed and presented in clear graphical and tabular formats, giving operators the ability to detect errors as soon as they occur. With Gcas installed on-site, operators can: Stop keeping manual control charts Save time and effort on their site maintenance activities Benefit from simple and accurate mismeasurement reporting Be less reliant on external GC specialists Reduce their OPEX costs by simply monitoring their GCs performance data with GCAS as an automated condition based monitoring software Gcas : Confirms GC measurement accuracy by identifying performance errors Analyses historical data to identify changes and predict future failures Removes the need for conventional GC maintenance activities Determines live uncertainty values to quantify the GC s performance Validates measurement accuracy across the entire pressure let down system Creates a fully auditable database of ongoing and historic GC performance Thiago Ferreira Romeiro, Measurement Engineer. What can Gcas Detect? Gcas validates the gas chromatograph s performance by detecting: Calibration gas errors Gas chromatograph leakage Column deterioration Valve timing issues Poor handling procedure Heavy end drop out Faults in control chart interpretation Errors in repeatability test interpretation Operating condition changes Spot sampling procedure errors Calibration errors gcas 19
