While industries such as healthcare, education and finance were adopting new ways of doing business, engaging a global workforce and leveraging technology to provide more value to clients, the legal industry was still asleep. They decided to do something about it. Over 1000 Happy Law Practices and Corporate Counsel LegalEase Solutions was created in 2005 with the firm belief that law could be done better. 7 Tariq Hafeez is a practicing attorney who received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Tariq Hafeez, Co-Founder/President Tariq's expertise is in the areas of business and corporate law, healthcare law, and commercial and civil litigation. As a result of his entrepreneur background, he enjoys advising small business on a variety of matters including corporate formation, governance, sale/purchase of assets, and acquisitions. Tariq is increasingly focused on providing legal counsel to healthcare-related businesses including physicians' practices and home healthcare providers. Tariq Akbar, Chief Executive Officer Tariq Akbar received his Masters Degree in Industrial Engineering and Management Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York, and holds certifications in Management and Leadership from Harvard Business School. Besides co-heading LegalEase, Tariq serves as the Director of MetroSkyline Developments. Previously, he served as Board Member of Epoq America and worked with Deloitte Consulting, General Electric, and Rockwell Engineering. Tariq has substantial domain expertise in consulting, legal, and real estate services sectors. His industry experience spans business process reengineering, outsourcing, technology and management of offshore resources in Public Sector, Financial Services, Health Care and Consumer Business in the US, Europe and Asia. Teri Whitehead, Vice President of Global Strategy Teri graduated cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School where she was also an articles editor for the Law & Inequality Journal. She received her undergraduate degree cum laude from Case Western Reserve University. Prior to joining LegalEase, Teri worked as an attorney at mid-sized law firms representing businesses and in-house counsel. She focused on civil litigation, real estate, business, and bankruptcy law, in addition to serving as a district court mediator. Gayathri Rajeev, Senior Manager Operations (India) Gayathri received her undergraduate degree in Law and graduate degree in Law of Taxation from Govt. Law College, Calicut, South India. Gayathri has over eight years of experience working with corporate legal departments on complex legal projects, including securities compliance, securities regulations, legal research, and contract management. Her client work includes work for a global asset management firm, a leading financial services firm, and a global telecommunications company.
