Abdelkader BELHI,Managing Director for PLM Ressources SARL Tunisia, has a strong experience in CAD/CAM/PLM area mostly in programming new applications for systems integration for more than 20 years in the European Market. The most well known integration was for Teamcenter enterprise with CATIA for DAIMLER. For migration side, he did also a migration of dimensioning tool for sheet metal from IDEAS to NX dedicated to Siemens AG. Page 2

5 Introduction The data used from different suppliers to the upstream users is processed in different department. Solid edge helps companies to design better products. CAD data is under constant changes throughout its lifecycle. Page 5

6 Issues Error data can be identified in later stages. Error data can be transferred in upstream processing stages or in the manufacturing. Development process can be delayed. Page 6

8 What is ST-Optimal? ST-Optimal is an application to proof Solid Edge CAD files (Assembly, Parts, Drawing ). The user can choose some specific criterion in order to check its owner standards defined on the CAD process of the company. Page 8

9 What is.st-optimal? ST-Optimal is a Solid edge add-in developed in C#. ST-optimal is integrated with solid edge offering the possibility to customize check profile. Page 9

10 ST-OPTIMAL : Main components Check profile : contains different criteria for each Solid edge document type and some general criteria. Check analysis: contains an overview of results (violated and non violated criteria). Check reports : contains results in a html file. Page 10

11 ST-Optimal: Profile A profile is a set of criteria for checking CAD files. Check profiles are defined by solid edge users according to their needs. The criteria are grouped according to their CAD file type, the groups being placed on the different tab cards of the profile editor windows. Page 11

12 ST-Optimal: Profile For each CAD file type, Solid edge users will have a list of predefined criterion to check. An empty profile is delivered for solid edge user. It can be enhanced and modified in order to satisfy the CAD process checking Page 12

13 ST-Optimal : Analysis After profile selection, the checking process is started in background. When the check is executed, the analysis window appears and is automatically displayed. The user has the possibility to analyze/check the detailed results: RED for violated criterion YELLOW for warning GREEN for non violated criterion Page 13

14 ST-Optimal : Analysis The result can be displayed sorted : Either by the criterion Either by the element The result can be controlled by selecting one of those filter options: All : Display all criteria Correct :Display the non-violated criteria. Violated : Display the violated criteria. Page 14

The report gives a review of the check results and contains details like: Checked profile Name The path of checked CAD file The check date The list of results The report is a html file stored in the installation directory. 18 ST-Optimal: Review ST-Optimal is an integrated solution with solid edge offering a graphical user interface to proof /check CAD data. It could be extended to others check companies policies. It will facilitate CAD work and save time. Page 18
