Application overview Tabs Ribbon Table Area Barchart Area Information Panel Tabs: you can navigate to different parts of the application The active tab (selected tab) is always in white Before the green Analyze tab : modify your risk inputs After the green Analyze tab : review your risk output reports Ribbon: provides a user friendly and context sensitive toolbar for each tab Table Area: Provides the listing of the project activities Barchart Area: provides a Gantt diagram and timeline of the planned project Information Panel: shows different types of detailed information relevant to the activity currently selected in the Table or Barchart area

3 II. Five steps to reduce the project risk 1. Import, create or open a schedule Within the Schedule Tab: A. Use the FILE ribbon to create your schedule by one of the following methods: Import a project from other sources (*.SP, *.SPP, *.MPD, *.XML, *.XER) Create a new project by using New Project Wizard Create a project from templates B. Use the HOME ribbon to Add/Remove/Filter/Sort your project activities C. Use the DATA ribbon for setting up your project resources/calendars/userfields/profiles D. Use the VIEW ribbon both for modifying detail information of your activities and for grouping them E. Use the PROJECT ribbon to define the Schedule Options

4 2. Validate/Edit your schedule Use the Schedule Warning Tab to get detailed insight into your schedule quality by A. Assessing your schedule s risk integrity and credibility B. Accepting the warnings if you know the reason for, and are happy to accept, the warning Click on activities and you will be redirected to the Schedule tab where you can: C. Check the activity logic, constraints etc. and correct any issues necessary D. Edit the activity s detail information if necessary The checks will automatically be re-run as soon as you leave the schedule tab.

5 3. Model and Analyze Risks Create your Risk Model by: A. Defining your risks in the Global Risk, Calendar Risk and Project Risk tabs B. Building dependencies between risk factors in the Correlation tab C. Assigning risks to project summaries and activities in the Risk Mappings tab Now you are ready to analyze your Risk Model D. Go to Analyze tab and select the risks you want to include in your analysis E. Specify the number of iterations you would like to run F. Decide if you want to include correlations, provide a Seed or resource level during the analysis G. Run Analysis

6 4. Review results Project Schedule Project Cost Project Duration In Distribution Graph tab A. Evaluate the risk analysis results for the project schedule, cost and duration B. Assess the results for each activity or for the whole project C. Change the time span granularity if necessary You can go back to Analyze tab, change the parameters and run the Risk Analysis iteratively and each time you will be redirected to the Distribution Graph tab where you can D. Send the results to Distribution Comparison and evaluate the variations E. Export the graph and save, print or attach to other documents

7 5. Report Review the results using a variety of different reports: A. Project Risk Drivers for both the finish dates and the final costs (in Drivers tab) B. Activity Risk Drivers for both the finish dates and the final costs (in Drivers tab) C. Impact calculation and risk curves both for schedule and costs (Sensitivity Analysis) D. Critical Path Maps including the activity list, Barchart and Path Plots You can export all your reports and graphs as image files (.PNG), XML file format, also print, save or attach to other documents.
