1 JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE Head of Responsible Sourcing & Stakeholder Management REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS Responsible to: (Immediate Director/Manager job titles) Other reporting line (e.g. to committee/board/project manager) Responsible for: (No. & Job Title) MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB Director of Marketing & Responsible Sourcing Chair or the Sedex Stakeholder Forum 4 Direct Reports 2 x Product Manager, Innovation Manager and Stakeholder Manager. Our products and services enable members to bring together many kinds of different data sets, methodologies, standards and certifications, to make better-informed business decisions, and to drive continuous improvement across their value chains. Sedex uses technology as a platform to help create solutions for data capture as well as developing insights, trainings, guides and collaborative spaces for the membership and wider stakeholder community. Understanding the community of stakeholders that we engage with (our membership, strategic partners, our Sedex Stakeholder Forum, and wider industry contacts) we are looking to significantly expand our Responsible Sourcing team so we can apply industry knowledge and best practice to ensure that all investment in the management of and development of products and services has a clear added value and return on investment for our membership and our overall strategic business goals. This expanded team at Sedex will develop and deliver market leading products and services. Aim of the team is to: Establish and maintain Sedex s leading credibility in responsible sourcing across all 4 pillars. Gather and embed industry knowledge, trends and best practice to enable Agreed Version Page 1 of 5

2 Sedex to support members and future members to achieve their responsible sourcing objectives. Identify, develop and launch relevant industry products, services and education that support member s needs The team comprises: Head of Responsible Sourcing & Stakeholder Management Lead the development of a portfolio of new and existing products and services to ensure they are relevant, fit for purpose and of added-value for Sedex members aligned with the overall Sedex strategy. Product Manager Responsible Sourcing (x2) Innovation Manager Responsible Sourcing The Product Manager owns the development, relaunch and embedding of primarily existing compliance products and services. The Innovation Manager owns the research and development of new products and services through Sedex platform or 3 rd party partnerships Stakeholder Manager (p/t) Responsible Sourcing Product / Innovation Executive Responsible Sourcing (x2) The Stakeholder Manager identifies, develops and manages relationships with external stakeholders to support Sedex. Supports the Responsible Sourcing team management and creation of relevant product and service offers through research, analysis, content creation, project management and coordination skills. KEY OUTPUTS Manage the portfolio of new and existing products and services to match and surpass member expectations covering compliance (SAQ, Risk Assessment and Audit) and beyond compliance. Maintain Smeta as world leading audit methodology through continuous improvement and development. Create a business case for each innovation and by working with key internal stakeholders clearly determine: budget, timelines, responsibilities and objectives. Agreed Version Page 2 of 5

3 Create and manage workplan within team to support prioritised projects aligned with technology roadmap to deliver on time in full. Contribute to the development of, and implementation of, a strategy to address and improve the quality of data through data capture tools that exist such as SMETA (Sedex Member Ethical Trade Audit) and SAQ (Self-Assessment Questionnaire) work with key internal stakeholders and external industry bodies to achieve this. Sets up and leads specific engagement with key SSF members to create and test new and existing product developments. This includes; setting and agreeing the remit, facilitating and engaging the key stakeholders in to those projects, and leading on the most business important projects/work streams. Actively manages the Advisory Group and key subject support sought. Actively works to recruit and allocate member volunteers to the most appropriate SSF working group. Engage with all relevant stakeholders and map industry trends, capture the needs of the membership and apply industry knowledge to direct and inform the business how the portfolio of existing products and services should be managed. Develop relationships with key external stakeholders across the range of SEDEX s 4 pillar offer (labour rights, health & safety, the environment and business ethics) to feed in and support the development of products and inform the business where it should develop the scope. Develops the themes/focus for insights on Sedex data to be shared and used in the industry to help members and wider stakeholder community drive change. Monitor and track and uptake and usefulness of products launched and update internal stakeholders when required. Ensure close working relationships exist cross functionally. Advise and consult with Head of Client Services to understand member needs and inform and advise of existing products to encourage uptake. Represent and promote Sedex as required at external events. Manage relationships and engagement terms with specialist external consultants as required. Lead, manage and coach a high capability team to deliver objectives and key outputs as well as support personal development of team members. Agreed Version Page 3 of 5

4 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Excellent knowledge of Responsible Sourcing/Sustainable supply chains approximately 10 years experience Strong knowledge of auditing methodologies and creating/managing Risk Management Programs. Proven leadership and coaching of teams Multiple viewpoints of different perspectives across stakeholders ideally has worked at an Audit Company and Buying organisation. Experience with/of mainstream auditing programmes Amfori RBA ITC and SMETA etc Good knowledge of SMETA from an implementation perspective Strong network of industry contacts in Responsible Sourcing Global awareness of international supply chain.- on the ground experience and understanding of how Sedex products are used throughout the supply chain Understanding/demonstrate experience in beyond audit/continuous improvement Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent facilitation skills to drive stakeholder engagement and relationship management Defining and leading projects Demonstrate the Sedex values service orientated, quality driven, collaborative, a simplifier and takes responsibility RESPONSIBILITY & DECISIONS Please indicate: Decisions where there is discretion to make and which are regularly made Decisions normally referred to a supervisor before action Impact (improved service, increased efficiency, etc.) Responsible for: Setting direction to team and fit to company strategy Creating and managing the launch plan across the portfolio Allocating and prioritising resources within team Manging communication and expectations from team to key stakeholders Resolving issues and bottlenecks affecting team Coaching and developing team Engagement with external Stakeholders and partners Contributes to: Recommendations for the spend of investment in the technology roadmap delivery Agreed Version Page 4 of 5
