New Dynpro for Workflow User 10
New Infotype Integrated in Student File 11
Some Technical Details User determination for the person responsible for a subjects is manual because each admission request requires an individual assessment (high flexibility was a requirement) The workflow creates as many branches as users (subjects) are entered in the user determination (high flexibility was a requirement) No special SAP authorization is required to enter restrictions and or conditions because all data are stored exclusively in the workflow container during the entire workflow process. After the dean s office releases the decision on admission, the data will be transferred to the new infotype with a background user. 12
Benefits Improved management of the business process Seamless integration of the faculty user into the process Standardization of processes Transparency of processes Consistency of service quality Authorized users can monitor the status of each workflow Improved execution Process flexibility with manual user determination Separated authorization for initial capturing and regular change process for restrictions and conditions. End users can concentrate on their core competences Data must only be entered once and is then carried through the workflow (one set of data) No limitation by breaking business processes into parallel steps (not limited by paper forms) Reduction in time 13
Challenges General Bologna process New technology for the Technical Process not supported by SLcM Limitation in the technology (flexibility versus standardization) Agent assignment with Responsibilities 14

Benefits Improved management of the business process Seamless integration of the faculty user into the process Standardization of processes Transparency of processes Consistency of service quality Authorized users can monitor the status of each workflow Improved execution End users can concentrate on their core competences Data can be keyed once and carried through the workflow (one set of data) All required technical steps are executed by the SAP Business Workflow as background steps If a participant is unavailable, the workflow engine can route work to another user No limitation by breaking business processes into parallel steps (not limited by paper forms) Reduction in time 20
Challenges General Quality of master data in SLcM Technical Test procedures for background steps Error handling for background steps 21
