1 INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SERVICES University Technology Administration, Infrastructure and Support Microsoft Enterprise Applications and Systems Goals Year 2018 Overview Microsoft Enterprise Applications and Systems (MEAS) manages central enterprise Microsoft technologies and services provided to the university community. Mission To deliver the highest quality of service specific to Microsoft technologies and business critical applications, which include directory services, , unified communications, file sharing and collaboration, database services, cloud services, Windows server administration, Windows updates, and end point protection. Goal 1: Improve communication and collaboration with ITS partners and customers Identify opportunities to work with ITS service provider groups and external units to improve process and procedures that help streamline and build efficiencies in support procedures and responses Encourage team to continue building positive working relationships with service provider groups through professional communications and motivation to help resolve service provider group and customer issues Continually improve the MSTS communications to various communities and groups like UITM, UITP and MSTS community to meet the changing and growing needs of participants 1

2 Develop strategy for delivering and communicating continuous O365 service updates and enhancements to supporting partners and users Goal 2: Advance and expand availability of enterprise Microsoft services Complete migration SharePoint 2010 to O365 SharePoint Online (FSU) Research how we can support expanding SCCM functionality supporting CTS desktop and department server needs Evaluate existing and new services in O365, looking for opportunities to make available to the university community Deploy O365 Groups and Teams to faculty and staff providing new productivity tools for collaboration and team work Evaluate Yammer for collaboration and communication across organization Goal 3: Ensure operational stability, reliability, and performance of enterprise and departmental systems Refine Windows update schedule to promote system security and stability, as well as maximize the opportunity to automate system updates Install and configure enterprise Microsoft systems supporting O365 environment, expanding services for DR efforts for Directory Synchronization **PHASE 2** Coordinate and perform Nexpose scans and remediation activities on ITS enterprise Microsoft, ERP, and department application systems Upgrade Active Directory from 2012 to 2016 Configure federation service (ADFS), used by unit and department applications for FSU authentication, to expand to FSU ITS Disaster Recovery site in Atlanta to support login redundancy Migrate department to central FSU O365 system Migrate departments to central FSU Active Directory (AD) 2

3 Develop procedures for administering the deployment and management of departmental servers Develop procedures for supporting the implementation and support of departmental applications Migrate ADConnect SQL database (student) to ADConnect SQL server Upgrade DFS servers to Windows Server 2016 Coordinate removal of references to webmail.fsu.edu from various FSU / ITS resources Refresh SCCM environment Upgrade PowerShell server to Windows 2016 Decommission SharePoint 2010 on-premise environment (post SPO migration) Decommission remaining systems from Exchange 2010 environment Goal 4: Develop standardization and automation in operations Establish and create automated account deprovisioning process (to include support for O365) Support IAM team to evaluate opportunities to streamline and automate account modifications Goal 5: Develop and improve documented processes and procedures Revise and document server provisioning and deprovisioning procedures Update and document new Windows update process and procedures Review and document department onboarding to Active Directory Support creation and modification of documentation and procedures for O365 services used to by IT support groups and users 3

4 Goal 6: Support organizational initiatives and align procedures to support ITS Participate in and support the Disaster Recovery activity around Business Impact Analysis Support the infrastructure and account management specifics for OIM project Support the NIST implementation providing consultation on design and systems management Continue efforts to understand and apply ITIL framework and processes into our operations Continue to support and follow standardized change and incident management practices Support efforts of PMO to standardize and centralize the management of projects Adhere to established CRM case management guidelines Goal 7: Increase security of ITS supported and enterprise managed systems Support the NIST implementation and management ensuring the compliance requirements are maintained Perform regular Nexpose scans, review of the vulnerability reports, coordinate and perform remediation activities on ITS enterprise Microsoft systems Coordinate scheduled Nexpose scans and remediation activity with ERP and department application owners and systems Review and improve security standards for Windows OS servers Improve security and protection by applying and refining various configuration changes like DMARC and SPF; advanced spam filtering; and policy-based filtering Implement recurring security and audit reviews of enterprise servers and applications Evaluate and compare MFA solutions: DUO and Microsoft; recommending solution for O365 applications Complete DMARC assessment (ProofPoint engagement) 4
