FIS POWERLINK Real-time Integration from FIS EFT to Core Banking

The Challenge Business as Today s Pain Points Usual Dual entry card maintenance Manual card ordering Needs to be central fulfillment batch files from Core to EFT Issuer is dependent on Core support of Batch / Real Time maintenance abilities to streamline their operations in the following areas: PAN status changes Name and address updates Create batch card fulfillment requests automatically after new credit/debit account established on core system Evolve to real time card adds for in-branch, instant issuance & post issuance PIN changes 2

The Challenge A Difficult Financial Institution submits estimate to core provider online interface Core provider provides estimate, typically too expensive Core provider establishes delivery timeline for: Coding effort Certification Go Live Task If project approved, FI waits on core provider to deliver Cardholders do not benefit from real time balance updates/availability FI continues: Administrative task of regular PBF updates Fixed PBF Update costs Use dual entry for immediate balance updates 3

The Solution - FIS PowerLink Real-time integration with non-fis cores Real-time authorizations, authorize and secure funds in real-time Real-time card management functions Solves for dual entry Eliminates manual card ordering Automates card maintenance No development effort required from the core vendor Technology team writes to the existing specification of the EFT processor 4

FIS PowerLink Card Management Feature Process cardholder information from the core to FIS Use FIS supported standards and no development required Card Management is offered as an extension to real-time authorizations or as a standalone product. The necessary fields are extracted from the core account processing system and processed to identify cardholder adds, edits, or deletes. This information is transmitted to FIS through online or batch file methods. 5 5

FIS PowerLink Solve dual maintenance procedures Benefits Authorize and secure funds in real-time Reduce exposure to fraudulent cardholder activity Cost effective hardware implementations Consistent balance information during inquiries Minimize batch file processing costs Automated system monitoring and recovery Enables the use of other useful FIS Products instant issue, card fulfillment and partial authorizations 6 6

FIS PowerLink Existing Core Connections Each core is unique in how it allows access. Each integration must be evaluated individually to determine the best approach. Some core integrations that exist today include: Jack Henry Core Director Jack Henry CIF 20/20 Jack Henry Silverlake Symitar Fiserv Precision Harland Phoenix Harland Sparak McCoy Myers/CSI 7 7

FIS PowerLink Installation & Hardware Installation Leverages a low-level connection into the core account processing system but no development or testing is required from the core vendor. In some cases we request the core vendor to enable this connection and they may charge a fee for enabling the connection. However, it is far less costly versus other connectivity methods. Hardware Real-time processing for financial institutions under $200M in assets will require a single use Windows server. Larger clients will likely find it more effective to use a two server configuration. Financial institutions utilizing the Card Management feature as a stand-alone option can install it on any current Windows computer. 8 8

FIS PowerLink Training FIS PowerLink is designed to have a minimal impact on operations No new balancing or audit procedures FIS and partner will oversee system configuration and provide training to financial institution personnel 9 9
