Version Enhancements Release Notes 9 Version Enhancements This section summarizes the system enhancement updates in EFI Pace version by module, including the corresponding issue number. Refer to the Version Fixed Defects topic for detailed descriptions of all defects repaired in this version of EFI Pace. Version API [PACE-52387] The system no longer times out when you use the API to post Inventory records. Version Accounting Integration [PACE-47805] When you use the Onesource integration to calculate tax and invoice shipments with carton contents of job part items, the system uses the shipment address to calculate tax rather than the invoice Sold To address. Version Custom Report Writer [PACE-45702] When you run custom reports that include a shared formula (i.e., showsize) in i-net Designer, the formula now displays the correct result. Please note that you must change the configuration within i-net Designer. Refer to the "Reporting Tasks" section of the Admin Console guide in Online Help for more information. Version Accounting Integration [PACE-47700] The system now populates Address Line 3 in the Jeeves Accounting integration. Version Radius Portal [PACE-47407] The system now retains user-defined inquiries with external objects, even when the Portal is not connected to the Radius database. Version Hardware [PACE-46483] Debian Wheezy was updated to address Linux Q vulnerabilities. This includes a security update to patch Meltdown (CVE ) and Specter (CVE , CVE ) CPU vulnerabilities. You must restart your server after you apply the update for the security patches to work. If you are unsure of how to safely restart the server, please contact EFI Pace Support at Pace.Support@efi.com or at , extension 3.

10 EFI Pace Release Notes Version Accounting Integration [PACE-45875] The Job Type Billing Options tab on the Job Type Detail page includes a new Separate Tax Distribution for Rounding check box that determines whether the system adds the rounding amount calculated from tax distributions as a separate tax distribution line or distributes the amount among the existing invoice tax distributions. API [PACE-47299] In the API SDK, the legacy PHP and VB.NET samples are now located in the Unsupported folder. You can use these samples as a reference, but they are no longer maintained. Version PaceConnect [PACE-45871] You can now use the XML data importer to look up an ID ID lookup with an xpath. If you want to update an object through XML but the XML does not contain the object ID, you can identify the object by an xpath with other attributes. For example, you can use a lookup attribute in the XML to update an estimate by its estimate number instead of the estimate ID as follows: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <import> <InventoryLines> <InventoryLine lookup="@serialid=1645"> <quantity>1500</quantity> </InventoryLine> </InventoryLines> </import> Version Accounting Integration [PACE-41356] The Invoice Type Add and Detail pages now include the new Create Tax Distribution check box. By default, the check box is selected for invoices, and deselected for pre-bill. You deselect the check box, EFI Pace does not create any tax distributions when you add an invoice. When you select the check box, EFI Pace creates tax distributions, where applicable, when you add or change an invoice. Version Hardware [PACE-44199] Debian Wheezy was updated to address Linux Q vulnerabilities.

Version Enhancements Release Notes 11 Version Accounting Integration [PACE-44877] The system now passes the Product Code to OneSource. Version Accounting Integration [PACE-42367] The Other Settings tab on the Job Cost Setup Detail page now includes the new Relieve Partial WIP Per Part field. When you select the check box, the system applies to the individual job parts the WIP/COGS adjustments for any invoice posted with WIP to relieve less than 100%. When you deselect the check box, the system makes all WIP/COGS adjustments to part 1. Version Accounting Integration [PACE-42367] The new Consolidate VAT Tax Distributions check box on the Job Billing Setup Detail page enables you to prevent the system from summarizing invoice tax distributions when VAT (Value Added Tax) is in use. When you select the check box, you can turn off the system behavior of summarizing tax distributions when the country, tax rate and tax category are the same. By turning off summarization, you can now link tax distributions to their originating invoice line/extra. Select the Consolidate VAT Tax Distributions check box on the Job Type/Job Type Billing Options if you want to calculate tax in a country that uses VAT AND you want to use a query or report to link the tax distribution to the invoice line to which it is related. [PACE-42369] You can now enter a tax category on a job product. Version Estimating [PACE-42278] The system now maintains the outside buy template where both estimate and job description velocity templates are created, and contains the new, Use Estimate Description On Convert check box. When you select this check box, the system maintains the description set in the outside buyout from the description template in the estimate over to the job outside buy, rather than the job velocity template overwriting the value. If you force the description in an outside buy template in an estimate, the system copies the forced value to the job on convert, regardless of a job-side velocity template.

12 EFI Pace Release Notes Inventory [PACE-42482/PACE-42171/PACE-41315] / / Purchase orders now use dedicated UOMs instead of both a UOM and unit quantity. For example, if an inventory item is purchased by the roll of 100 ft., the system now includes a UOM value of 100ft-Roll instead of only Roll. When you upgrade your system, EFI Pace creates the new UOMs and updates existing inventory items and purchase orders to include the new UOMs in the new Quantity UOM field. The Inventory Item Detail page now includes a green plus sign (+) next to Units of Measure (UOMs) for your convenience. To manually create new purchasing UOMs, click + on the Purchasing UOM tab. Select a naming template for the new purchasing UOM and enter the unit quantity. Before saving the new UOM, EFI Pace checks whether the UOM already exist, and, if so, uses the existing UOM instead to avoid duplicates. Note The system hides any UOM created through the Purchase UOM Add page from all UOM lists unless it is used as a purchasing UOM for an inventory item. Version API [PACE-41361] The InvokeAction API web service now enables you to start, pause, resume and complete a ganged job activity, similar to the process in the Data Collection module user interface. You can find the sample "GangedActivityJobCost" code in the Java source code of the SDK. Version Job Billing [PACE-36770] The Job Billing module now includes the Rate 2 Limit field so that the system can properly handling tax rate limits for certain counties. Version PaceConnect [PACE-41541] The Data Object Event Exporter PaceConnect now supports XML creation using a Velocity template. Version Framework [PACE-36955] EFI Pace now supports whitelisted proxy servers in the appliance configuration to prevent upgrades from reverting whitelisted proxy servers.

Version Enhancements Release Notes 13 [PACE-31269] To maintain privacy, webcrawlers now exclude your EFI Pace system from indexing your sites. [PACE-38493] You can now link standard currency fields that are set to perunit with a Unit Of Measure (UOM) field in EFI Pace. User Interface [PACE-36626] The system now includes a new cost widget which includes a unit price and the purchasing unit of measure. [PACE-37500] EFI Pace now uses the inventory item pricing unit of measure to create the pricing information when you add a purchase order. Additionally, the system uses the inventory item quantity unit of measure to create the quantity information when you add a purchase order. Accounts Payable [PACE-23868] EFI Pace now includes only posted bills in Accounts Payables history. Accounts Receivable [PACE-31203] The Cash Receipts Journal report (cash-receipts-journal.rpt) now includes an option that enables you to group the report data by bank account. Customization Toolkit [PACE-37644] The InvokeAction API web service now enables you to start, pause, resume and complete a ganged job activity, similar to the process in the Data Collection module user interface. You can find the sample "GangedActivityJobCost" code in the Java source code of the SDK.

14 EFI Pace Release Notes Customizations [PACE-37644] The Inventory and Purchase Order forms were substantially changed to incorporate the new Unit Of Measure functionality. If you have custom Inventory forms (such as InventoryItem.detail) or custom Purchase Order forms (such as PurchaseOrderLine.detail), it is highly recommended that you download the new standard form for version and add back up your customizations. As part of the upgrade process, any XML from the following forms were fixed to eliminate possible errors: InventoryItem.add InventoryItem.addDynamic Inventoryitem.detail PurchaseOrderLine.add PurchaseOrderLine.detail PurchaseOrderLine.addFromJobMaterial PurchaseOrderLine.addNewFromJobMaterial PurchaseOrderLine.addNewFromInventoryItem While the change made to the XML enables your custom forms to function, your system may not include all the new Unit of Measure functionality. To download the standard form, navigate to [ServerIP]/config/webapp/epace2/object/form/ and enter your Administrator user ID and password when prompted. When you log in, a list of all standard forms appear so that you can download the appropriate forms and compare them to your custom form. Refer to Appendix A for a list of all standard forms affected by the new Unit of Measure functionality. EFI Pace Scheduler [PACE-36209] The system no longer sends jobs with cyclic links to EFI Pace Scheduler, and the Scheduler Job Exporter PaceConnect record includes failure executions for cyclic link jobs. Estimating [PACE-37791] The Estimating module now includes a new "Markup Type" field with the following two available values: Overall Markup is the legacy markup configuration that enables you to set a markup percentage for "Paper," "Outside Purchases," and "Overall Markup." V/A Markup replaces the single Overall Markup field with the Base V/A Markup and Base Non V/A Markup fields on the Estimating Setup Detail page, Customer Detail page, and Estimate Detail page. When you select V/A Markup, the system makes the overall markup unavailable and non-applicable. The Base V/A Markup field indicates the markup used instead of the activity code markup and applies only to those activity codes for which you selected the Include in value added check box. This markup applies to costs, similar to the overall markup. The Base Non V/A Markup field indicates the markup used instead of the activity code markup and only applies to those activity codes for which you deselected the Include in value added check box. The markup applies to costs, similar to the overall markup. [PACE-38962] The Commission Percent error message now includes the quantities position and parts description so you can determine the parts on which commission records are required.

Version Enhancements Release Notes 15 [PACE-903] The Estimate Price Setup tab on the Estimate Detail page now includes a new Price Rounding Method field, which includes options of , 2 -.1, 3-1, and When you upgrade your system, the default field value is , which does not change any existing estimating calculations in the system. If you change the value in this field, the system recalculates ALL price fields (but NOT the cost fields) to round to the nearest value, based on the field value you select. For example, if the Quoted Price value on an estimate is $ and you set the Price Rounding Method field to 4-10, then the system calculations round the Quoted Price value to the nearest ten, and displays a value of $ Likewise, if you set the Price Rounding Method field to 3-1, the system displays $ as the Quoted Price. [PACE-38549] The Estimate Summary page now displays the VA bar chart for value added and non-value added records at the estimate, product, and part price level for each quantity.

16 EFI Pace Release Notes [PACE-38538] The Analysis section on the Estimate Summary Detail page no longer includes the "$" symbol in the headers. For example, instead of V/A $, EFI Pace displays V/A on the Estimate Summary page for the part, product and estimate selectors. [PACE-32551] You can now edit the Effective Commission Rate on the Estimate Price Summary page. [PACE-33737] When an estimate includes a forced product or estimate level overall markup, EFI Pace now sets the overall markup for new parts added to an estimate to the same forced value. [PACE-37173] The Device Capability column on the Press Event tab of the Press Detail page is now named Press Event. [PACE-37065] The Press Event object now includes the Active field and the Press Event field displays only the active press event values. [PACE-12813] You can now add markup percentage by quantity, instead of only at the estimate part level. [PACE-13219] The system no longer adds a plate for varnish if the press is not configured to do so. You can override the estimate to add a plate for varnish if needed. Please note that the Varnish Needs Plate field in the press setup use the value from the estimate press in an estimate by default, and the system does not change the value on an existing estimate when you change the press configuration. To initiate the new change on a press, please delete the Estimate Press record and recalculate the estimate. Hardware [PACE-40096] Apache now includes the patch to the latest version that addresses a potentially highly publicized vulnerability CVE Optionsbleed. [PACE-40761] Debian Wheezy was updated to address Linux Q vulnerabilities. JDF [PACE-38855] When you run a job with more than one sig on a sheet, EFI Pace now sends the proper pagination for workflow integration. [PACE-37072] You can now filter press events in EFI Pace by the JobPartPressForm press selection, thus reducing the press event selections. [PACE-30248] When you run a job with more than one signature on a sheet, EFI Pace now sends the correct pagination for the workflow integration.

Version Enhancements Release Notes 17 [PACE-32964] When you enable the Send Update On Job Version Change feature on the PaceConnect record click Update Version, the system does the following: Submits the JDF PaceConnect record every time you click Update Version, regardless of the Job Status settings. Submits a QueueStatus message for the JMF PaceConnect when you click Update Version. The system also submits a SubmitQueueEntry message if the Update Job Version feature is enabled on the Job Status record AND you selected the In Production check box in its setup. When you change an Admin or Production status, the system triggers the JDF PaceConnect, and the JMF PaceConnect triggers a SubmitQueueEntry if you select the In Production check box for the Admin status or Production status. When you disable the Send Update On Job Version Change on the PaceConnect, the only submission for either PaceConnect occurs when you change the status according to the above criteria. JMF [PACE-37938] For prepress integrated workflows, EFI Pace now supports and receives unplanned job costs for all gray boxes in the MIS to Prepress ICS document (JDF version 1.3). Notes You should still follow your consultant's steps and send only the recommended gray boxes for prepress integration: ImpositionPreparation, PrePressPreparation, PlateMaking, and ImpositionProofing (where applicable). As part of the implementation process, customers or consultants must add the new Gray Boxes (Content Creation, Plate Setting, Proof and Plate Making, and ImpositionRIPing) as Prepress Items and select the JDF Default Item check box for unplanned job costs. Job Billing [PACE-40924] The system now carries the user-defined field on an Invoice Line over to the credit/debit invoice lines. [PACE-31966] The Change Order Billing Notice (jobcontrol-changeorder.rpt) and Work Order (jobcontrol-changeorder.rpt) now include the PO number you enter on the Change Order Info tab. Job History [PACE-31273] The Job Archives Profit Analysis report (jobarchives-profit-analysis.rpt) now contains an End Date parameter to be more consistent with the other archive reports. Job Shipments [PACE-38300] The Job Shipments module includes the following enhancements: The Skid Packing Slip now prints one single page per skid for a shipment so that you can attach a packing slip to each individual skid. Each page includes the skid number, the number of cartons for the skid, and the quantity per skid. The Skid Packing Slip report (skid-packing-slip.rpt) also includes the total number of skids per shipment and the total quantity per shipment.

18 EFI Pace Release Notes In the report parameters, you can choose whether the following items print on the report: o o o o Additional Job Description Ship Via Note Carton Content Carton Content "Type" label Please note that all totals on the report (skids, cartons and quantity) are always based on the shipment. Even if you print the report from the skid instead of from the job shipment, the system use the totals from the job shipment, rather than the skid set. PaceConnect [PACE-40000] You can now optionally execute an XSLT stylesheet against the "Estimate Job Importer Connect" and "Data Objects Importer Connect" PaceConnect records before importing the file. You can also pass your own XML format into these PaceConnect records and then upload an XSLT stylesheet to transform your custom XML into the EFI Pace XML schema to enable importing. Additionally, the "Data Object Event Exporter" PaceConnect records can now optionally execute an XSTL stylesheet against the XML file that EFI Pace creates so that your receiving system can receive XML in the necessary format. [PACE-38487] You can now link a language to a customer using a required field, if you select the Jeeves Accounting Enabled check box on the PaceConnect Info tab on the Customer record. [PACE-37602] The EFI Generic Connector now requires Java 8 or above to install. [PACE-38382] The system now includes a new PaceConnect record for integration with the Jeeves accounting system. This new PaceConnect enables you to send customers and invoices to Jeeves and import suppliers and customer balances from Jeeves to EFI Pace. [PACE-35947] EFI Pace now includes a new PaceConnect that enables you to use the services of Onesource and its tax technology platform. With this new PaceConnect, you can use Onesource and your shipment addresses to precisely determine tax rates on your invoices based on the destination of the job's shipments. When you post invoices, information is sent from EFI Pace to Onesource and held for tax compliance reporting. Onesource also updates invoice reversals and debit/credit memos with tax updates as you enter them in EFI Pace. PaceConnect-Metrix [PACE-21815] EFI Pace now sends tab allowances to Metrix as extended panels.

Version Enhancements Release Notes 19 [PACE-3857] You can now define custom fold patterns in the Metrix GUI, which you can then use in EFI Pace. Note You can use custom fold patterns with JDF workflows that involve Metrix-exported JDF layouts; however, you should not use custom fold patterns in JDF-based production workflows. [PACE-27119] The Metrix paper catalog now calculates EFI Pace inventory items configured with the same paper type and paper weight as the SAME paper with various SIZES. In Metrix, you can change the paper from one size to another size when you edit a layout, and you can also gang job parts with different inventory items together, as long as those inventory items include matching paper types and weights configured. Additionally, when autoplanning, Metrix considers all the sizes and picks the most appropriate one. [PACE-38524] The system now displays a detailed error message when the number of odd panels exceeds the maximum possible odd panels for the fold pattern used in the estimate part, and indicates how to resolve the issue. [PACE-39772] The system now logs the MXML file in the default_logs when EFI Pace sends the MXML to Metrix and the Debug option on the Metrix PaceConnect record is enabled. Note This is for debugging only. You should not enable the Debug option on the Metrix connect ion live customer when not required, as this can lead to performance issues. PaceConnect-PrintStream [PACE-38853] You can now mark a PrintStream-shared inventory item as "DSF shared," so that the system shares it with Digital StoreFront through PrintStream. PaceConnect-Sage [PACE-38391] The system now includes an enhanced integration with Sage 200 to bring customer balances from Sage and record them against EFI Pace customers. Price List Quoting [PACE-36214] You can now add components to quotes. Purchasing Note The new Unit Of Measure functionality includes upgrades to the Inventory and Purchasing modules. Refer to the Inventory topic for details. [PACE-33534] The Purchase Order Receipt report (purchase-order-receipts.rpt) now reports the correct extended price for each receipt, as indicated by the Extended Price field on the Purchase Order Receipt Detail page.

20 EFI Pace Release Notes [PACE-37986] Purchase Order reports now display the quantity and unit price UOMs separately. [PACE-37983] EFI Pace now correctly converts the quantity received on a purchase order to the quantity on hand on the inventory item if purchase order and inventory item use different UOMs. System Setup [PACE-37180] EFI Pace now enables you to enter a more meaningful description for a press event. The system uses the press event description in drop-down lists, such as in the Press Event Workflow setup, in addition to the Device Capability name and value. For any existing Press Event record, the system uses the name and value from the linked Device Capability record as the default description. You can overwrite this default description on the Press Event detail page. Upon upgrading to EFI Pace version 29.01, the Press Event field in the grid on the Press Event Workflow Detail page contains no values. Because the Press Event field is now a required field, however, you must select a press event for each line in the grid to update the page. EFI Pace updates the grid with the corresponding read-only Device Capability field once you selected a press event. Prior to EFI Pace version 29.01, in a JDF integration where device capabilities are required, you had to select from a list of device capabilities, which required at least a basic JDF knowledge. Now, you can "translate" the JDF terminology to something meaningful for your employees with the Press Event description field. Together with the Active field on the Press Event record, this significantly increases the usability of press events and enables deeper integration at the same time. Tip Administrators, please note the following for best practice for this update: 1. Before you update to version 29.01, please check which press events/device capabilities you do and do not use, and consider a more meaningful description for the press events you use. 2) After updating to EFI Pace version 29.01, deactivate the Press Events records you do not need. 3) Change the description of the active Press Event records to something meaningful for your employees. 4) Navigate to each press event workflow on your system and select the required press events in the grid.
