2 Chairmen s Message The year 2017 is an important year for us. It marks 15th year of our Corporate Sustainability Report in consecutive years and second in series following GRI G4 Guidelines in accordance with the comprehensive option. To align our agenda to the global cause, this year, we have correlated our sustainability initiatives with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The action will help us find another meaningful and visible purpose of doing business, purpose of becoming a partner in contributing to achieve global common goals, the SDGs.. Complementing the same, the theme for our Corporate Sustainability Report is Nurturing Inclusive Growth. Aligning with Sustainable Development Goals. As a responsible company, we are leverging the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to align our existing business model with global priorities. We are committed to support meaningful programs and partnerships that help achieve these necessary goals by building a better world for 2030 and beyond. 6 Corporate Social Responsibility Jubilant is partnering with its surrounding communities and for long time working with them to bring progressive social change through its community development program. Jubilant Bhartia Foundation (JBF) is a not for profit organisation established in 2007 by the Jubilant Bhartia Group to implement its Corporate Social Responsibility programs. Project Arogya and Swasthya Prahari Improving health indices through innovative services and promoting health seeking behaviour Project Muskaan Universalizing elementary education and improving quality parameters for primary education through community involvement The CSR activities at Jubilant are in line with the provisions of Schedule VII, Sec-135 of Company s Act 2013 and the Board approved CSR Policy is available on the Company s website ( com). Key community development programs are implemented under the following projects: Nayee Disha Enhancing employability through vocational training Rural development Supporting the community infrastructure as and when identified in the project area 6

7 Corporate Sustainability Highlights CSR Programs focusing on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) SUSTAINABLE CITIES AND COMMUNITIES NO POVERTY Jubilant conducts skill development programs at the Vocational Training Centres (VTC) During FY youths were trained in the surrounding community of Nanjangud facility MoU signed with IL&FS Skills to implement vocational training programs Supporting VTC under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana (PMGKY) ZERO HUNGER Jubilant has initiated CSR program on combating malnutrition This year the Company extended its integrated malnutrition project from 10 villages to 31 villages near Gajraula facility Signed statement of commitment with SUN Business Network GOOD HEALTH AND WELL-BEING Jubilant provides basic healthcare facility to the community around its manufacturing locations MoU signed with Uttrakhand State AIDS Control Society/ Technical Support Unit for Roorkee facility An Integrated Counseling and Testing Centre (ICTC) for HIV/ AIDS in association with UP State AIDS Control Society (UPSACS) at Gajraula QUALITY EDUCATION Jubilant through its Project Muskaan is working towards strengthening of rural government primary education system Project Muskaan focuses on enhancing quality of education by introducing monthly extracurricular activities in the selected project schools. The activity involves events like sapling plantation, drawing competition, street playing competition etc. CLEAN WATER AND SANITATION Jubilant is making efforts in sustainable management of water and sanitation for all through projects at various locations Potable drinking water facility has been made available at community surrounding Nanjangud facility. Installed 100+ hand pumps at Gajraula for enhancing the availability of potable clean water Supported sanction process from concerned government authorities to establish water distribution system at villages near our facilities. Jubilant takes a proactive role in empowering local communities to improve their quality of life so as to achieve the goal of inclusive growth. The Company s CSR projects/programmes are designed in such a way where the community is involved from the planning to impact assessment level. The community shares human capital as well as various other resources in terms of land and cost of additional infrastructure development PARTNERSHIP FOR THE GOALS Jubilant is dedicated to promote social innovation in India in recognising social entrepreneurs who address the needs of under-served communities in both scalable and sustainable ways. Jubilant Bhartia Foundation (JBF) joined hands with the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship in 2010 to launch the Social Entrepreneur of the Year (SEOY) Award in India. 7
