2 OVERVIEW Well Master information drives a multitude of business processes. Key dates, location information and ownership are just a few of the many attributes that help to ensure compliance with operated assets, properly evaluate outside operated assets, and ensure awareness of potential future assets. After a year plus effort QEP Resources is ready to go live with a Master Data Management project that replaces the existing Well Master database with a PPDM based solution. This presentation will discuss the driving factors leading to: The process of migrating Well Master data to the new system Lessons learned Success factors Our plans for continued leverage 2

13 LESSONS LEARNED Very important to determine system of record user ownership of data elements is critical Data is not going to be perfect! Don t get hung up on making data perfect before implementing a data management system Data management is an ongoing process - having a system in place to compare data sources and enable data clean-up is imperative 13
